You are kind of onto something. He wants more performance and mileage but is going about it the wrong way.

See he can replace the glass with plexi. That will save a good 100lbs.
Then just spray the windshield with RainX and he can dump the wipers and motor saving another 30 lbs.
Run some duct tape down all the pannel gaps.... hell, bet he gets over 30 MPG!

Four space saver spare tires to cut down on rolling resistance and increase mileage. He could not go more than 55, but hey that creates better economy as well and makes it less catastrophic when a slimed bag explodes. That's a win-win in my book.

Thanks for posting the picture. I hope you go ahead with the project and paint your Cordovan Mark VIII a matte finish. The picture posted was a great start but I think it could have been executed a little better. I think it would have looked better if a darker paint was used. It looks too much like primer the way it's now. Also, the chrome trim doesn't go well. It should have also been painted as well. The windows also need to be tinted dark and the tail lights and headlights need to be smoked. The wheels need to be painted black. The whole idea is to create a stealth look.

Ewww... look at the stains on it from the dirt that's washed off the car during a rain... its hard enough to keep a gloss black vehicle clean.... let alone a flat/matte black vehicle.


If I ever go with a flat/matte paint job, it will be because the rest of my clearcoat has peeled off!! :lol:

heres a pic of mine how it currently sits iam almost done body work on other side, its just in flat black primer, i plan on going either white or black lol cant decide but it just doesnt look right like this not for these cars

Has anyone here painted their Mark VIII matte black? If so, please share some pictures. Matt black is now the rage for car finishes and I think it might look awesome on our cars.
