I have a 98 continental that won't start. I parked it over night for about eight hours and the next day it would not start. I tried to jump it, thinking I had a drain on the battery (like leaving an interior light on) and it still didn't start. All the power seats, locks, windows, the stereo, air compressor, and lights etc come on, but the dash display does not. Usually when I turn the key on, the dash display comes on. The engine will turn over, but it will not fire off. Can anyone help me???

A few other added notes, the battery in the car now is brand new and it is the correct battery as well. Also, there are only 54,000 miles on the car. I've had a check traction control prompt come up on my dash display before, other than that the car not starting is the only problem I've had. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm getting fuel and spark. I'm thinking about getting a obd2 code reader to hook up to the computer and find out what's up. Any thoughts on that?

I just read about this the other day. there were two things to check when the car does not start:

Hard starting: The engine may be hard to start or may stall after hot soak due to the idle-air control valve sticking (1995-96), or a poor connection at the crank position sensor. (1995-97)

Regards,
Brad.
