Has anyone used this before? I had a little rust on the underside of my door and decided to go with this stuff. It was very basic to apply but, was wondering what to expect in the long term. Here are also some shots of the car being preped. It has taken longer than I first thought. I have had to do everything myself so, it has taken me more time. I'm taking my time and really want to give it the best chance to be a great paint job. Oh yea, the glass company managed to pop the rear window when removing it.

Looks good. Can't wait to do mine.

I used POR-15 on my entire Town Car frame and most of its suspension parts. It seems to work well and seems to be holding up also. If doing a door bottom you'll have to get in the crease also as if you just go over the area but the rust is still inside it will still spread. If you can't get in there... when the entire car is done and cured, squirt some 30w oil in the door bottoms. It will stop the rust dead.
 
POR 15 is awesome, as long as you apply it correctly. I will be dropping the front subframe on My car this summer when I pull the motor and plan on sandblasting it and then coating it with POR 15.

What are you going to do about the back window? Can you buy new replacements?
 
O2, I coated the inside crease completely. It should be good to go.

Kust, I found one for 400.00 that is in great shape. So, I will probably go with that.
 
I have a coating of POR-15 on the floor board of my '64 half ton. Being an AZ truck, I leave the windows open to "vent." I get rained on and flood the inside soaking the carpet occasionally. After three years of this, the carpet is gone, however the floor looks great!
 
Por-15 Is one of the greats!

Before I got into the Lincoln Style of life I've had a 66' Chevy Fleetside pick-up and also 72' Olds Cutass's one hardtop and one convertible. All floors and frames done with Por-15. It does stay where you put it so be sure to protect you skin when using. There is also some stuff I've used before called bullet proof rust protection. It also works great. Good luck.

POR-15 is great stuff, I did an intake and block of one of my '65 T-Bird oh- 8+ years ago with their engine kit -still shines like the day I painted it. took a month to cure but wow.

I coated some minor exhaust brackets at the same time with the rust coating - silver color - they also still look new. As above if done as instructed it will last. Expensive but well worth it.
 
Por-15? Is that for only cars in the midwest/east/rust belt?
 
Its for protecting your investment! :) My 73 Mark IV was rust-proofed before customer delivery, and it was a florida car.

My 96 is a northern car - no protection, no rust except the front clip where Ford did not galvanize the darn thing :(

I'll have to look into this stuff when I re-paint the engine bay this summer!
