POS Intake kit

That looks like the intake tube that ASMI sells. It may be the first version they made. The inlet tube was not made big enough for the hose fitment. A quick fix is to get a rubber hose about 4"-6" long with an inner diameter of 1.25" and slide it over the inlet piece. The host fiment will slide into the rubber hose and secure next to the inlet piece. You might want to get a couple of small hose clamps as well to secure it.

Yeah those are the exact same problems I had with mine. Shoot the KKM bracket in the garbage. The silicone coupler will keep it on if installed right. I made a bracket to connect it to the motor instead. For the other piece as mentioned above you a rubber tube piece to get the 2 connected. If you broke it there would be nothing wrong with just replacing that whole hose with a new one.

Mine came from LSK

Thanks Ken, that is exactly what I did just after post 11. Took about 30 minutes to run to Pep Boys and get the material and finish. Im not sure what diameter the hose is but it sliped over it just right. I did use a clamp any way.

While I was at it got a few others to match.

The silicone coupler I got had to be stretched over the MAF with a screw driver as I was slipping it on so that thing ain't moving. As far as the bracket goes I twisted the stupid thing in every way possible ( relieving frustration and it felt good ) and tossed it in the sewer. The thing is such a tight cramped fit that I don't even think I would need it. I mean, I try to wiggle it myself and I cant move nothing at all.

Sewer, garbage, either way.

With the silicone connector there it is way better off anyhow. Connecting the filter to the firewall is a poor design without some flex point or bellows connector.

The kit is a good unit, just not a perfect fitment.

Now that shes on there good, go stand on it and enjoy.

I can finally take back my words.

Sorry intake kit:shifty: , your not as much of a POS as I thought...;)

same thing happened with mine. A quick run to autozone to get a wide enough rubber hose and bam was up and running

Allright, so enough people say that they ran ito this with the ones they bought from LSK. Whats the deal?

Ken, Have you sold any of the ASMI kits in the past that some people have had this problem as well, or was I lied to about its brand by the seller on e-bay?

We sell the ASMI kits now. However, as I stated earlier when the first versions of the intake tubes came out they made the inlet tube too small. With that they came up with a fix to the problem as mentioned earlier to those first versions. The newer version has the correct diameter opening.

As for eBay, I have no idea about the tube you bought. We don't sell those on eBay.
