is there a way to maNUALLY put my drivers seat back goes forward but will not return back no obstructions in the way think the motor is going reaaly frustrated plz helllllllllllp...........

That might work- but I don't know if it causes more long term damage-
but push the button back, put your left foot on the dummy pedal and push it...

I don't know what to do with these seats. There's no avoiding them wearing out, and that damn autoglide feature causes even more needless motion and use.

How do you restore these seats? I can get my seats reupholstered, but once those motors freeze up, what options are left then? Buy another used 14 year old track?

Any motor or auto 'lectric shop can rebuld the motors. I had my seat motors rebuilt for my 65 T-bird for $35 each. Grease the tracks with white lithium and keep em clean.

I had the motors on my 93 rebuilt by a friend of mine when I was changing the interior last March. He told me most of the parts were readilly available. The downside is your Mark will be down for the duration of the seat motors being rebuilt. The only other quick fix is to get a seat from a salvage yard off a wrecked Mark. Here in Houston, mosts seats go for $40.00

got to love the old birds, had a 65 in high school loved that 390ci motor glug glug with the gas- do your sequantial blinkers work? I may still have a working unit out in the shed

I've been looking for a driver's side seat track. It's just worn out. Anyone know where to find one for a '98 MkVIII? Also looking for some air bag sensors.

BTW, you can disengage the auto glide feature. I did that when the track wore out. I think it's one of the set up features found by pushing one of the buttons on the dash, right below the LCD readout and right above the radio/stereo.
