Hey guys, i just got the pre-cut tint that i ordered 2 weeks ago :shifty: anyways its 20% and its going on all the windows (not the front one) and i was just wondering if u got any tips on how to tint the windows easy, i will have couple friends helping me...
What tools should i use?
What kind of liquid? soapy water? i heard windex but i dotn think so..
Thanks!
Being that it's pre-cut, you should concentrate on cleaning the windows before installation. A clean job is THE HARDEST part of window tinting. BTW, how is the rear window done? Did they send you strips, or 1 large piece, and they expect you to shrink it out?

i ordered the same stuff for my wifes focus. i have no intention of installing it, but the local shops wont either because i didnt buy it from them...so now im screwed. i went with 35 on the rear doors and window, and whatever the next lightest is for the front windows.
I won't either. Part of my profit margin comes from the film. Besides, if something went wrong with your film, 95% if the time, you'd expect me to fix it for free.

Here is mine with 20% on seven windows.
Buddy of mind did it in his garage for $180. Looks very professional as my buddy used to tint windows professionaly at a place called Ziebart. When the cops metered my tint they said it read 15%...oh well...I've only got one ticket and I never paid the thing anyways cuz they labeled my car is a black conti on the ticket. lol.
First off, he must not be much of a friend. For a 4-dr car, with complete lifetime warranty (bubbling, peeling, change of color, fading) I charge $190. For the less expensive lifetime warranty film (jbubbling, peeling) I charge $140. For friends, depending on how good of friends they are, they either get it for $110 (dealer price) or my absolute lowest price of $85.
For $180, he could at least have used a full-metal film so it wouldn't have turned purple already. And the part about getting out of the ticket because the cop put down the wrong car is BS. I have friends that are on the local PD, and they always laugh when they hear BS stories such as yours.

IMO...just have it all done professionally. No hassle and if its not done right they will redo it...simple as that!
Couldn't have said it better myself....

I used to work at Best Buy here in Scottsdale. We installed Madico window tint for a couple of months.(terrible idea for best buy) Anyway i have it on my car and it was very easy to do. I did it myself, the hardest window was the back. I'd say i took me about 45 mins to do the whole car. Just follow the instructions if i came with some. As far as the solution goes we used about 6 pumps of baby soap in a squart bottle.
I actually lived in PHX when Best Buy was doing tinting. (or was that the $1 install radio place?) Anyways, any soap works fine. I've used baby soap, Joy, Dawn, etc. But, 6 pumps is WAY too much.

110 for tints all around except the front windsheild with warranty.. including taking off the old tints.. gotta love miami
$110? Either you know somebody, or the film they used isn't a good grade of film.
