To begin i bought a 2001 ls v8 back in october of last year no CEL light or any major problems it has a lil under 140k miles. Today i noticed it was sputtering/jerking when trying to maintain speed between 40-50mph then the CEL light came on. I took it back home to switch cars and do some research. The popular answer has been coils and plugs or solenoid for the tranny but majority is the coils. Ive checked a lot of new and old posts for the last few hours. All say either visteon or motorcraft coils but any links to visteon end with not having any instock or no longer available. Motorcraft is a lil to expensive 60+ for just one. Havent been to autozone to see what code is coming up but ill do that in the morning and update my post afterwards.

My question is where can i find the coil pack that i am able to buy or where is everyone getting theres for a good price ill will be getting ngk platinum plugs

Ok, first of, KUDO's for taking the time to do some research and actually reading previous posts related to your issue.

You are correct in stating that your "lady's" troubles are COIL related.

The most common problems with the LS running rough and the MIL flashing on the dash during misfires is always COILS ((COP)Coil Over Plug) as the main culprit.

If you had the V6 the coils would be plentiful and more affordable. however the trouble with the V6 coil & plug replacement is having to remove the driver side manifold.

The V8 coils are definitely a little pricier and harder to come by (supply& demand)
The Visteons are near a thing of the past for the V8. The Motorcraft DG529's you would need are OEM and work just fine as intended.
They are indeed a "small bank loan" but can be had on sale or deals at either Amazon, eBay or Rock Auto, there is also Tusca.

having said that, the search is time consuming and individually one has to take in consideration any shipping costs.

There are of course other manufactures of the coils you'd need but some prefer to not get the cheap ones found on eBay as they may be of lesser quality and you'd find yourself chasing down yet another misfiring coil. Yet others have had good luck with the cheap ones aswell.

I, me & myself had good luck with Rockauto for the DG529, even with the shipping to Canada.

The DG529's are your best bet. Currently listed at $45.79USD
(Find a rockauto discount code on the internet for 5% off.)

you can also contact or look for post by member "jrand"
he has a way of getting/buying coils one at a time with a "discount code" thus saving further $$$'s

~ good luck!

........also Tusca.

Actually, the upper intake manifold has to be removed to access the passenger side coils & plugs.

It's really TASCA (tascaparts.com).

Do not trust those ones listed for 75....they are not OEM Fords, if you email them they will tell you it's OEM quality, but not Ford.

Thanks for all the replies bigrigls much appreciated
Yeah you do need a "small bank loan" for them COPs lol but i look good when im driving it so that ranks over all the troubles its going to give me lol

Just be sure to get OEM Motorcrafts, the link above was too good to be true.
Rockauto is still a decent price.
