I went tou the local hardware store and they had nothing. where can I get something to cap off the pump? what size is the thread and cap? thanks.

1996-1998 have smog pumps on the headers. and if they're not smog pumps, which I am pretty sure they are called that someone should still know what I am talking about. the secondary air induction,anyways I want to delete it and I am pretty sure geno or anyone who has headers should know how to cap em off

Its the secondary thermactor pump wich injects air into the exhaust for the first 30 seconds of operation.

Just have a shop weld something over it. If you have "Plug-In" emissions it will find the pump being disconnected.

I just used the nut that holds the tube onto the manifold and welded a washer over the end - therefore making a cap. I did the same thing for the EGR.
I used the 1/2" female caps from Home Depot on my front of my midlengths, and a male plug in the back of the drivers side (which I then welded and ground off for steering shaft clearance. There's a couple pictures where you can make them out on my cardomain web site....

Go to page 2 and look on the bottom of the page. And yes... It is a 57 Tbird, but I'm using the Mark VIII engine and transmission.
