Question about TB and IMRC's

No the B heads do. The C head design shown above is. 4 big ports, 2 valve inside each. If it was 1 port per valve, there'd be 8 holes on that side of the head. Thats what ares look like, 4 oval and 4 rectangular. 4 each side open all the time, 4 each side that the IMRCs control.

If they got it right on the Gen II's......................

REALLY? wow. that makes no sense at all!
i guess they got it right on gen2's :)

what were you talking about an intake extension?

If they got it right on the Gen II's, why are the Gen I's faster??

That would be from the terrible, SLUSH SHIFTING, timing pulling, horribly conservative programming!!

That if I took a Gen II and added a shift kit and a chip it would keep up with a Gen I ??

I don't think its GenI vs GenII as much as it seems the 93-94 seem to pull harder than 95-98. I don't know much about the 95, but the 96 is an oddball as it has the OBDII and some of the exhaust emmission crap as the 97-98 do. Yet it has the earlier intake.

Food for thought.

My uncles 93 all stock but tuned up does feel a little bit more "peppy" than my 96 Mark (stock) which ran 14.9. My 98 doesn't have the same throttle response as the 93 but definately feels faster at WOT but it's not really stock anymore.

i drove a stock 93 with 45k on the odo, and it felt better than my car on all except the best day she was runnin. imo the 93 is best by far.

Sitting in the 93 then switching to my 98, it's like a whole different car, there really is no comparison.

everyone keeps thinknig the gen 2 intakes were redisegned for performance.

they were redesigned for quieter operation, period,

Gen 1 intakes are superior to gen 2's

Lincoln advertised the the introduction of the 97 mark viii engine as having a "quieter intake while maintaining engine performance" bull crap, they lost power while making the intake a little quieter, along with the reduced engine timing mapping.

the gen 1 was the best intake until the cobra's intake came along, and the gen 1 is still s little better for low end torque, not as good for top end HP.
