Question for anyone w/cross-drilled and slotted rotors

If you buy them on eBay, they are Chinese!

i-Rotors and R1 are all Chinese GARBAGE rotors that are the cheapest on the PLANET from China! Why would you even consider that on a Lincoln?

They are JUNK! They are $5-8 each from China.....= manufacturing cost of $1-$3 EACH!

Get a clue man!

You'll put your safety and that of others on the line because of some good deal on eBay that YOU know is wrong?

Ken,

Don't misunderstand me. I'm certainly not considering or suggesting purchasing China made rotors. At this point I don't think I would ever buy anything but Brembo. The debate is regarding the general issue of cracking with drilled vs. non-drilled / slotted / dimpled rotors and I think the personal experiences and info provided above from you and everyone else have been VERY helpful. Thanks again.

as I said - I have had mine for two years now - I'm not easy on brakes - 40,000 miles - fourth set of pads, fourth set of tires.

My drilled/slotted rotors are fine.

Quik, I'm not trying to doubt you here, just get more info. Who's drilled/slotted rotors are you using?? Are the drilled holes chamfered as that will definitely affect their integrity.

For what it's worth, my buddy has a VERY expensive Baer kit on his 95 Z28 and after just a few thousand miles he's found stress cracks, and the holes on those rotors are chamfered too.

are you saying chamfered NEGATIVELY affects integrity?

I'm using CC Rotorworks - a no-name e-bay brand.

They are very slightly chamfered.

I maybe better off because of the lower-grill venting to the rotors I setup...

it is normal to have some hairline cracks show up around the drill holes.
