Radio Problem

Thanks so much. I've figured out it has to be the AMP,,,now with my medical condition,,complete knee replacement operation,,getting someone to get it out of the trunk. If you know anyone that might have one let me know. Thanks again.

It's very easy. You just lie down on your back and slide in. I can have an amp out in a few seconds. You just rip it out, no tools.

Too bad I'm on Vancouver Island.

Thanks so much. If not for my knee I would've had that thing out myself in minutes and I'm 78. Grew up working on cars trucks and heavy equipment. Again Thanks. I had a complete knee replacement operation recently. Almost healed but not quite.

I believe this is the start of a failing amplifier.
How can I be sure it's not in the radio? If it does it in AM and FM and Cassette and CD does that mean it's the radio or AMP? I know it does it in AM & FM but I haven't checked cassette or cd ( I don't use them,,but I can for this) Any ideas will help. I'm having some medical problems Knee operation and will have to pay someone to get up in that trunk and get Amp out and new one in. Thanks

My stepfather had that done. A painful operation and he was not good with pain. Anyway he kept playing tennis for another year after he had that done. He was 91 at that time. A bit of a monster.

After you remove the trunk lining in the way, there is a plastic knob at the drivers side end of the transverse electronics shelf, it's hinged on the passenger side. You get that lose, I think turn and pull, and the whole package will come down on it's hinge, it's also held up with metal clips that just pull down to undo . You can unplug the wires and just pull the amp from it's locators.

I finally got enough energy (my knee operation) to put a CD in the changer in the back,,,I have never used it before,,,Well,,it did start it's popping and cracking after about 10 mins. BUT after I took the CD out there's something in there that kept going in and out on the side of the CD cartridge. Even when I took the cartridge out it still kept moving in and out. So I took the cartridge out completely. WTH????
