my cd changer is not reading cds anymore...so i want to get a in-dash pioneer. the guy at best buy told me i have to re-wire all my speakers because of the stock amp system.....is that true?? if so, is there an easier way to go around the amp or a way to bypass the it??

Either:
Get one of these and adjust the output and keep the stock amps- keeping all 8 speakers (sound quality is great).
Rewire each speaker individually directly to the radio- but only 4 speakers will work unless you wire an aftermarket amp (PITA to do yourself, or expensive for some high school drop-out working for $8/hr in Best Buy's car audio department to do).
Or buy one of these and jump the amp- again, 4 speakrs only.
and last, but not least; stay the hell away from Best Buy for car audio advice...

I have 2 pioneers avic d1 and i have 1 in my black 95mark with the jbl amped system and i hooked it straight up and the amps really produce well, i am leaving it except for 1 8inch sub for fillin..
best buy is a k-mart for electronics, there sales people dont know squat cause they makin $5.15 per hour. that is just false information. you have to do some fabrication to fit a doubledin nav unit in, but it is fairly easy...

I've not had any problems hooking up aftermarket in-dash units using Scoche wire harnesses.
I've put in JVC and Kenwood head units. I then purchased a JVC 12 disc changer and a Kenwood 10 disc changer the work with the head unit...
No problems... no extra wiring except the running of the changer cable.

Some idoit that had the car before me put in a $50 Wal-Mart Dual CD player. Needless to say my system doesn't sound the greatest. I'm not sure how he did it but I think he actually took out the amps and wired the head unit staight to the speakers, but I could be wrong. I'm looking in to getting it fixed but it sound like it goin to be real expensive.

That's all you need to do. The harness plugs directly into the car as is. It's that simple.
Also you know that you can pop out the message center's key panel above the radio for easy access to the radio cavity.

Get the line-level converter that evillally linked to. Do not get the amp bypass harness. It'll work w/ the 4-speaker Ford Premium stereo. But with the Ford/JBL system (which you have, since you have the CD changer), it'll cause a lot more problems than it solves.
