Well everyone

I started working on drawing a clean schematic today so that it might be easier for a novice to understand so that they can attempt to put their own "Ray Switch" together.

I haven't been able to find the time to do anymore builds for quite some time. With my daughter and my more demanding position at work, I'm just too tired and don't have the time or interest in building them much anymore.

So in good LVC fashion, I think it's best to give the build instructions to the forum so that they can continue to live on in remembrance of the creator of the "Ray Switch" Ray Urso Jr.

I'm just working on finalizing a complete parts list.

Will that include install instructions too? I have and original "Ray Switch" but I can’t remember how to install it properly.
 
I had the same problem...

I bought two of them back when Ray was still around, from another forum member (He bought them and ended up not using them). The other forum member was unable to find the directions, so I PM'd Ray about them. He wrote me back on a Friday, and told me that he was out of town and would send them to me when he got back at the beginning of the next week. I never received them. I found out later that week that Ray had passed away that weekend. Very sad...

Anyway, Adam (96hotrodlincoln, above) sent me what he had and I was able to figure it out with those. Good luck, and thanks again Adam!
 
Cool! I would love to build one just to try it. I still have the printed off instructions you sent me with mine Adam. Thanks for building them when you did.

My instructions will differ greatly from Ray's, My switch was along the same principles but wired differently from his switch. I doubt they will be much help to you. I will see if I can find his original instructions that I have and maybe those will help you some.

if 96 cant dig them up i could look into mine, its original and ray told me how to wire it over the phone, if i remember right its just got red and blue wire terminals right?

+2 96 for keeping the switch going, and this way it will live on
 
I'm glad to see you keeping the ray swith going. Last switch ray made for me was a custom front/back switch. He never did work the bugs out. R.I.P ray.

I have a one-off switch that I built for my car, it adds front and rear manual control as well as drop and reset functionality. I'll be looking at parting with it soon because I plan to convert to coils since my bags are going bad.
 
Alright Guys, here is the Schematic, Install Instructions, and Parts list.

I hope this all gets put to good use here on LVC. I'll answer any questions that I can to help assist anyone with building their own switch. Just don't expect an immediate response because I rarely have the time to jump on the forum these days. I would recommend PMing me with your questions.

I'm sure that others here on the forum will look at it and be able to answer some of your questions as well.

I hope this is not in reference to my post as all I was doing was reiterating the previous posters comment. If it was then my apologies but honestly dont see how it could have come off as demanding.

Not yours, the one below yours! I'm not sure who the hell NetKeym is or what makes him think he can come in here and try to be forceful with a damn near 6 year member but he can go piss up a rope, he may just have ruined this for everyone!

I'm starting to sound a little like Ray now!

Hey, my apologies. I wasn't trying to come off demanding or "forceful". I just wasn't sure how versed you were with that file hosting you were doing and trying to be helpful.

I wasn't being a douche. I do have respect for someone who has been on a board for a long time. I have thousands of posts on other boards, and seniors deserve respect.

Alright, maybe I was being a smart-butt a little bit, but not tooooo badly! :rolleyes:
 
moderate. not hard, but you need to be good at soldering wires in a tight spot.
if you can get past soldering the wires, it gets easier from there.
applying 12 volt to the vent solenoid and the appropriate solenoids (front, back, or both) will vent the car. grounding the compressor wire will turn the compressor on and you can bring the car back up.

just read instructions quickly, didnt quite understand fully why so many switches? if controlling with alarm button, thinking i might need help with this one lol

after reading your post i thought i could have one switch that puts 12v to all 4 vents and another switch thats grounds compressor to raise, after reading instructions iam confused
 
1 switch for:
LF solenoid.
RF solenoid.
RR solenoid
LR solenoid
vent.
compressor.
and i put in one to shut all the switches off at once.

7 total.

the alarm thing isn't an alarm thing at all. it's simply a timer relay often used in conjunction with aftermarket alarm installs. so that way when you wire, say the door unlock to the system, you can vent remotely. all that is optional. i left it out.
