RCA connection factory alpine

Hey everyone first time posting long time watcher. I have a 2002 Lincoln LS with the alpine head unit and two 6 x 9 speakers with amp in the rear deck. I'm upgrading my radio to a double din in the harness that I have it came with RCA hook ups but I can't for the life of me find where the RCA's are behind the factory head unit. All I see are three red plugs and antenna. I see some sort of white track with a bunch of wires in it. When I was doing the check out of my double din purchase it asked me if I had the Alpine or not and when I selected Alpine it had the rcas built into the harness I'm assuming for connection to my factory amp in the trunk. Sorry if my text is all broken but I'm in the middle of my garage trying to figure this out. Thanks in advance for help

None of the factory radios used RCAs. You can buy harness adapters that go from the factory connector to RCA (just one for the subs, it's mono), or you can solder one in yourself.
The factory signals are not really single-ended (signal and ground) like most audio. They are differential instead. However, they seem to work just fine when used as single-ended.

Oh ok thanks I have been going nuts!! So why did my metra harness come with rcas??? For future in adding? Basically using the factory mono amp?

Yes, that looks like the adapter that you need. So, what's the problem?

hes trying to install a DD radio and he doesn't know where to plug the RCA's from that harness into....




I'm really surprised he hasn't figured out that they plug in to the NEW radios RCA connectors so that the external amp will work with the new radio, more specifically, the sub out(well at least one of the RCA plug)s.

hope you have a 1500 resistor to keep the amp from popping every time you turn the car on and off.
