im simply asking are there rca inputs on the back of a stock headunit in a 2005 lincoln ls.ive searched everywhere and could not find an answer. i would go disassemble my dash and all that but i know someone here knows or has one sitting in their house where they can look

thanks

the answer is no if you tell me what you are trying to do i can point you in the right direction.

if the answer is no then i have everything else under control.
im putting a system in soon and was wondering if the stock one happened to have rca inputs. now im looking for the cheapest non flip out headunit

are you looking for a double din dvd player or just a single disc cd player. Look at kenwood they are on top of there game right know with there products.

i got a Kenwood DNX5120 with NAV and touchscreen, the first day it came out it was 999, they are down to 600 now, it has everything, sat radio, Daul Zone sound i can watch tv with sound and the rear passengers can listen to the radio.

i tried to have mine done and the guy told me since i had a 6 disk changer he couldnt add anything to it. thats what he said.

You could go that way. Just depends if you are looking for preouts for aftermarket amps, bluetooth, satelite radio, better sound quality, and the good thing about adding pieces on to the kenwoods is that you don't have to find external power for the additional sources.

I'm looking to use the wire harness/module that tvandnav2go.com sells to enable my stock navi to play dvds. They told me I had to hook up an external player (ie. dvd player, ps2) which is fine. Now my question is, how do I hookup an audio wire from the ps2 to my head unit? I guess the harness only comes with two rca inputs, one for backup camera and one for dvd video.

how is the picture quality on the nav screen with this module from tvandnav2go? I found another website that does this and didnt know which to choose avelectronic.com is the other website.

You can run an RCA inline converter, VERY cheap (like $10), VERY small so you can hide it, and very easy to install. you can place it in your trunk or under a seat or to your sub box...

That's false. PIE adapter is what you need. I have an '05 with the 6 disc changer too and I use the PIE adapter.

The PIE adapter is a joke! It costs just as much as a new head unit with a TON of extra features!

We hooked up an Alpine iDA-x200 in my friends caprice a few weeks ago and it's "slicker than a fat chick covered in mayonnaise." That is, if you don't mind not having a cd player.

Your best solution is to go out and find a decent deck for like $150 and have everything you want. Especially if you have an iPod or similar, there are a LOT of units that have built in iPod support these days, including almost ALL of the new Alpine units.

Also, Alpine is FTW.

Inline converter is the way to go, although you may pick up some stray engine noise. It will let you run an amp and anything else. You could run the signal through a filter to clean it up a bit or through a preamp equalizer.

The cheapest route is to find an amplifier with line level inputs. You splice into the back speakers and bingo you have a signal to amplify, Most of these amps have a rca line out so you can use the line out signal for whatever you want.

Hope this helps
