I am a student of history. Professionally, I have written 15 books in six languages, and have studied history all my life. I think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is just a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes, these exist but they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a
sharper focus.

Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about 10 - 15 years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy. Why?

We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (now violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial that it wants marriage to remain between one man and one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?). We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, Social Security is nearly bankrupt, as is Medicare and our entire government. Our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and know precisely what I am talking about.) The list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth. It is potentially 1929 x 10. And we are at war with an enemy we cannot name for fear of offending people of the same religion who cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.

And now we have elected a man no one knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla, Alaska.

All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh, of course. The media would
never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe is more important.)

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now.

This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

I thought I would never be able to experience what the ordinary, moral German felt in the mid-1930s. In those times, the savior was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they did know was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory and promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and waved a lot. And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his "brown shirts" would bully them into submission.

And then he was duly elected to office, with a full-throttled economic crisis at hand [the Great Depression]. Slowly but surely he seized the controls of government power, department by department, person by person, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The kids joined a Youth Movement in his name, where they were taught what to think. How did he get the people on his side?

He did it promising jobs to the jobless, money to the moneyless, and goodies for the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe, and across the world.

He did it with a compliant media - Did you know that? And he did this all in the name of justice and .. . .. change. And the people surely got what they voted for. (Look it up if you think I am exaggerating.) Read your history books. Many people objected in 1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and made fun of. When Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though.

Don't forget that Germany was the most educated, cultured country in Europe.

It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And in less than six years - a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency - it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors. All with the best of intentions, of course.

The road to Hell is paved with them.

Pam Geller is excellent. I've read her blog for years. She hit the nail on the head in this article.

I wonder how long it will be until people will say we should have listened to the republicans

I told the drones a long time ago, and 1 by 1 they are coming forward and admitting they were wrong.. The people who still dont realize are going to be horrified.

More people should read this.

I do believe someone was recently criticized on another thread for not snopes-ing material before posting.

I'd love to know who the 'enemy' is in the article that can't wait to slit our childrens' throats.

Anybody who cannot see what is happening to the free world has his head stuck in the sand and I am being very polite here.
I can go on and on but this is a site for cars so I will leave it at that.

I would have to take exception to this statement - Germany was poor, downtrodden, and oppressed at the time Hitler came to power. It is one of the things he promised, that helped get him elected - Pride in Nation, Pride in the German People. Hitler was the one that started to infuse money and resources back into music, art, museums, educations, (well, the military of course), etc.

Because of that lesson - we rebuilt the countries we destroyed in WWII - so another leader like Hitler, Mussolini, Hirohito, etc. couldn't rise to power again.

Powerful leaders usually have recent history to thank for their rise and gain in power.

and in steps Obama

So, do you think that 'blame' for Obama's rise to power can be laid at the feet of the Republicans?

Much as the 'blame' for Hitler's rise to power is often laid at the feet of the countries that oppressed Germany after WWI - the winners of WWI.

yes , but maybe not 100%.The American public did vote Bush in twice! Had he not declared "war" I think the republicans would still be in the white house.only my 2cents worth, and like voting in this country means nothing!

She's a damn good writer but she's missing the point that it has nothing to do with Obama alone. It's the ELITE that are doing this. The president is just a puppet for the elite! You want answers research the bilderberger group. They are what's behind this.

It's the elite that are moving our jobs across the sea, that decide what we learn, that decide what goes on.

Bush is the one that started the main downfall of our rights! It's been going on for decades, but the biggest downfall began with Bush! Obama sucks too and is setting himself up to be just as bad. But again, as bad as they are it's the elite whom are causing this!

You mean the failed electronic voting system voted him in twice! Coincidentally his vote is the closest in history twice in a row......yeah that sounds legit. Our votes don't count anymore! It's all electronic now and easily corruptable. Don't even try to say computerized systems aren't corruptable!

my vote means nothing because, for example , if I voted for someone who is pro death penalty it doesnt mean we will have the death penalty because the supreme court ,who we dont vote for calls the shots on matters we dont get to vote on,health care ,no vote ,death penalty, no vote ,abortion no vote.and on and on ,Important issues that we as citizens have no real voice and are force fed laws from corrupt self serving politicians, lawyers, judges.

Actually the 'bad guys' are the Masons. No, No, it's the Klan. Oh, wait, the klan REALLY ARE bad guys. Lemme think about this a little. I'll get back to you---there must be somebody...

Do you know anything about the bilderberg group? I'm not saying this as some conspiracy theorist because fact is not a theory. There is facts surrounding that group that date back 100's of years. I think if you understood the extent of their involvement in world government you would be shocked!

Let's just say MANY high level government officials whom we all know by name are part of that group and were videotaped going into their meetings. Why is that bad? Because it's ILLEGAL for government officials to meet behind closed doors with officials of other countries which they were doing. That is how corruption takes place which is why that was deemed as TREASONOUS!

The Masons? Sure they HAD power. Besides that's just what people usually quote when they read a few Dan Brown books and think they understand the depth of corruption in current government.

KKK? Come on man. Are you seriously comparing them to groups like the Masons or Bilderberger group?

I find it amusing people are so quick to be afraid of terrorist organizations, but think it's laughable that a group made up of the world's elite isn't scary. They control the money, and money is power.

Bring something better to the table than that. :p

1-2-3.......how many more links do I need? The true question is how many americans will sit idly by and be blinded by the lies of the media before they wake the f up? No the stories you're spoonfed on mainstream news isn't accurate, and yes it's extremely biased. People need to realize these news companies are a business, and are in it to make money.....what other biasing reason do people need before they question the accuracy of the media?

How is this different from modern America at the time of Obama coming to power?

Because gas prices are going back up hence repeating what put us into this "depression" in the first place. He's also not infusing into money music, art, etc.

Yes he's putting money into education, but that's more a move to stop people that are hurting economically from resorting to crime to pay the bills.

Obama sucks, but he's definitely not hitler. If anything Bush was more hitler than anything with his induction of the 'patriot act' from the attack on 9/11 similar to Hitlers induction of similar acts from a terrorist act at the Reichstag ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reichstag_fire ). Funny how both "incidents" were a pivotal point in pushing a war and acts that take the rights of the people. The parallels along with many that Bush and Hitler had, along with the fact that Bush's father was a Nazi sympathizer are uncanny. But the average Bush swinger would say that's a conspiracy theory without taking the time to properly look at both sides.

I'll give you $100 if you go buy a clue.

Or better yet, tell me one "hitler" type act Bush did or how his "induction" of the patriot act took away your freedoms. Name one. And name one American that has suffered and been prosecuted unfairly by the Patriot Act.

You need a logical reason; not simply a claim of bias. You need to show that their bias is clouding their judgement in some fashion. Usually through them making less then logical arguments.

Obama is closer the Hitler, ideologically. Obama's tactics of Nationalization are similar to those used by fascist regimes. What specifically has Bush done that is somehow similar to something Hitler did? The"patriot act" was not at all similar to Reichstag Fire. Your simple, baseless assertion of similarity does not demonstrate their similarity.
