The 96-04 Cobra spares will fit over the dual-piston calipers. ;)

Now you tell me. :D

I'm looking for a local test donor. Are they all aluminum or are they like the Mark VIIIs, some aluminum and some steel? It took me a year to locate two aluminum spares for the Mark VIII pattern.

Sorry, I don't remember you asking.

Aluminum.

It looks good , I bet it would look even better on Prostars :D

Finding 17'' narrow tire for the spare would be a problem.Put long studs on the front with spacer then you can run 15" skinnys. You can still run your stock wheels with long studs just need to buy open end lug nuts. That's what I do on my car and it works good.

What, I'm the only one you know who owns a Cobra?

Besides, what do you need a test wheel for, don't believe me?

Linky

MPS has stupid prices on all their parts.

I found a source for the wheels at $95 each sans tire. I just wanted to make sure they were all aluminum - unlike the Mark VIII spare wheels which were available in both steel and aluminum.

I think I'll have them bead blasted/polished and mount a pair of M&H 4.5/26.0-17 front runners on them.

I can send you a pic of a magnet sliding off of mine..... :D

Where'd you get just the rims? I'm sure you could get them to verify that the pair they're going to sell you is aluminum.

I've got two spares, and I guess if I use a spacer and longer studs, I could get them on with the Brembos.

I hope that the big M&H isn't on both sides of the tires.

Those arnt real Drag Lites are they? Kinda heavy, no?

Well now I am being called an idiot pretty much. I said how heavy your Drag Lites are and was told by two differnt people that know their parts say the wheels cant be real ones cause their Drag Lites weigh 19lbs and 24 lbs with rubber on them. :(

Huh?

What tires weigh 5 pounds???

I didn't buy them new, but they are genuine Weld Racing wheels.

Edit: The 27" tires weigh 19 pounds each themselves.

I tended to believe the guy that said his are 24lbs with rubber as he is semi pro and has all the scales for it but the guy that said 19lbs had me wondering.

On both of his cars he said each rear is 24lbs:

Hoosier makes some of the lightest tires for the strip. I know, because I have extensively researched this. Their lightest 15" rear tire is 17 lbs. To have a 24 pound combo would require a 7 pound wheel.

I wish I could find 7 pound wheels! :D
