Eventually it will probably get another set but the 2I have pictured I have on hand.

Gilby you have a set of very very nice Cobras. But I don't understand why you went from a Mark VIII to a Cobra. A Mark VIII can do anything a Cobra can do but in much more comfort, luxury, style, and much smoother. Yes, a Mark VIII takes a little more work to get there, but it is cheaper to start with. I believe the Cobra's short wheel base gives you the illusion that you are doing more. If you were to ride in my 03 Cobra you would think it was faster than my Mark VIII but it isn't.

this car isn't so much about speed. I like the mark viii but mine is starting to rust out really bad among other things and I like the styling of the sn95 Cobras. I don't believe they ride that bad (actually I prefer the 98 Cobra ride over the mark viii). I'm 26, don't care about luxury and I think the car does have style. I also know that the aftermarket will always be around for the Cobra but if I sink money into a Mark VIII how long will it be before I have to seriously modify something to keep it on the road? The Mark will still be around for a while as a winter beater so I just added to the collection.

Yes your Cobras are very sharp and have style. I to would not want to invest in a rusted car. Good luck with your Cobras and hope you enjoy them. My preference is mostly with the interior. I do not like the seating position in a Cobra were you sit up more like a pick up than a sports car and it is a bit unfriendly to those over 6 ft. tall. I like a firm ride with good road feel so yes a stock Cobras ride feels better to me than a stock Mark VIIIs ride. But I would and have modified both and the Mark VIII has more potential. When you get a fast as 11s I prefer an automatic. Part of that could be I'm getting older. You at 26 probably prefer the standard. But I really disliked the shifter position in my Cobra. And yes a Cobra is a better investment but neither is a good investment. It is a shame but I don't know it Marks will ever be worth much, but they should be. I've been very fortunate and have never had a major problem with any of my Mark VIIIs. 4 of them over 12 years and many miles. Has your first Cobra been reliable ?? Mine did fine till I took it to the drag strip. How long have you owned it ??

I am just under 6' and the only problem I have had with the 98 in the 4 yrs I have owned it was the bolt coming out of the ring gear but that wasnt the car's fault. The guy that installed it previous to me buying it didnt use loctite on it. The only other problem with the 98 is the foam in the seat is broken down so it is not as comfy as it was new. The 96 has a nice comfy seat since it only has 50k miles on it. I have only been to the strip a few times and with a short throw the shifter is in a decent placement for me. I bought the Cobra in April of 08 and the Mark in Nov 08.

Same with my '94 GT 5.0 5 speed..... started up every day and went (when it was my daily) and I only ever had one electrical gremlin that would leave me stranded til the car cooled down, but I fixed it by repairing a ground.... the car has been faithful to me for over 7 years and over 110,000 miles. This is why I am such a die hard pushrod 5.0 fan. The car (whole car!) Has over 238,000 miles.

My seat isn't as firm as it used to be, but I am used to it. Fits like a bucket seat. I too am also just under 6ft, and this car fits me perfectly. Its like it was designed for, and meant to be mine.
