I would seriously get them to quote you on a pair just to see what they would charge. I have always wondered what the price would be. It's not a simple process either. Has to be prepped, then a base coat and then something else that has to dry for 18 hours and then the chrome and then cleared, hell, idk. He had the machine in 2004 and then him and the other two that were involved got pissed at each other because friends were spraying things for friends and next thing you know, $700 worth of chemicals were gone and they closed down shop because of fighting. He did chrome his whole bike though so he was to blame just like the other two.

Anyway, two small housings like that shouldn't be too bad. I wouldn't act like it was a big deal or they might want to add a little to the price. I know the machine can chrome anything. The sign out front said "If you own it, we can chrome it" and it is real chrome. Just like being dipped except sprayed. They can even spray any color of chrome you want too. Not just silver chrome but green, blue, red, black, gold ect...
 
Someone down there should get a quote. And then let me send my headlights to that said person to get sprayed. :)

Sure GMAN should have asked here first but sometimes you just have to see it for yourself.Eh,don't think he had anything else to do anyway.
 
It don't hurt me. It took me all of three hours. So it may have been tried by you Jamie, but it hasn't been tried by me. If I don't like the results, I'll crack open another set of housings try something different. These are not the lights that are in my car now, so my time is not wasted. There is more than one way to skin a cat.
 
So have you tried them out at night yet?

I did the chrome tape route, and still couldn't see jack at night. These cars are dangerous at night.

The cheapest and best way to see better at night is to upgrade from factory Halogen bulbs to an HID kit for about $40.00 from DDM Tuning. also, keep your housings polished so they arent cloudy.

its not a matter of keeping the lenses polished, if the chrome is gone inside the housing, which 90% of the gen 1 housings are, then no bulb in the world is gonna matter. without chrome reflective material inside the housing, the light wont reflect, not with incandescent bulbs, not with hid bulbs, so even if your lense is as clear as crystal, if the housings are faded inside you wont get any light output.

I concur. but he said he rechromed the inside, so i was assuming he has some halogen bulbs. an upgrade to HID helps a lot over Halogen.
 
no he didnt rechrome them, he spray painted them silver! so unless he puts the sun inside them they wont work for crap.

This guy said he chromed his but apparently it was a fukked up chrome job because I have seen re-chromed housings and they light up just fine.
 
lol, dude i went through 6 years of autobody school and i dont care is you are pablo picasso you cannot get the chrome effect from a rattle can of chrome. if you could get perfect chrome out of a spray bomb, there would be no reason for nickle and chrome plating. if they looked chrome when you put them together, show us pics? you certainly had to have taken some if they came out so chrome.
