I really should just buy a book for this thing. Sorry for all the newbie questions but I tried searching.

Anyway I want to remove the headlights on my 94 Mark VIII. What's the process for this? The plastic cover is intimidating. :)

One way to remove the plastic rivets from the plastic cover is to use a cordless drill (if you have one) with a phillips head screwdriver bit on it. Just use the cordless drill like you are removing a regular screw, if the screw portion does not come out, then get a regular flat head screwdriver and place it under the flat portion of the plastic rivet and gently pry up while using the cordless drill on the screw portion of the rivet.

Once the plastic cover is removed, you will see the back of the headlights, and that they are held in by metal clips. To remove the metal clips, it is easiest to remove them with a pair of c-clip removal pliers, but if you do not have a set of those, then you can simply use a pair of regular pliers and a flat heasd screwdriver. If you have the c-clip pliers you can place the pliers in the holes in the headlight clips and it should be self explanatory. But if you have to use the regular pliers and flat head screwdriver, what you will have to do is grab the top of the clip with the pliers and pull a bit, then use the flat head screwdriver to push in the tabs on the clips so that they will pull out. Some times you do not need the screwdriver, and the clips will simply pull out, but if they do not use the screwdriver to push in the tabs on the clips. Then just simply unplug the bulbs and you are done.

Hope that helps.

This helped alot. I got my headlight bodies out, but I borke a c-clip. I can see where the low beam is burnt a little but the high beam is OK. What was the Ford dealer name who sells them at a discount?

FastPartsNetwork.com has assemblies for $209 per side. I have one arriving tomorrow to fix my front end. The c-clips can be picked up at a few auto discount places, there is a HELP item for them, dont recall the number.

I bought my headlights from team ford for $400 bucks total. Both sides.

I just checked their prices, all the items I looked at are about two dollar cheaper than Fast Parts. Its all the same shipping-depot and cheaper IS cheaper! The more I shop around, the less I like Torrie's (Fast parts) prices...
