Hello everyone I just purchased an 06 LS. I replaced the DCCV yesterday, bled the coolant, evacuated and recharged the refrigerant, and the AC is still hot. It cools down once I've started moving, but at a stop it feels like I have the heater cranked all the way up. I don't think it's the compressor because again if I'm moving the air is cool. Is this the condenser? My mechanic will have my car Thursday but with the 100 plus temps out here I want to figure it out before then. Any help is greatly appreciated!

It seems like you are all over the place here. Either it is the DCCV, or the refrigerant system.

Do you get ice cold air the first minute or two after first starting the car after the engine has cooled over night?
If yes, then it could be the DCCV. If no, then it's the refrigerant system.

At a stop, does it really feel like it is heated instead of just not-cooled? With the engine at temperature, come to a stop and feel the hot air (blower on manual maximum). Now set the climate control on 95 (blower on manual maximum). Does the air coming out get a lot hotter? If yes, then it's probably not the DCCV.

If your answers come back as no and yes, and it is correctly charged with 28oz of R-134a, then you probably have a bad compressor or scroll control valve (in the back of the compressor.) Check the high and low side pressures against this chart.

If the high side is low at idle, but okay at 2500+ RPM, then most likely it is the compressor/valve. I've had one failure like this, and I've heard of others.
If the high side is too high at idle and your engine fan is working correctly, then it's probably the expansion valve (sorry).

got to know the pressures, they will guide you to the problem...

Well my answers were no and yes so it's the compressor. Pretty frustrating because I asked the dealership if there was anything it needed and they said no and I traveled 12 hours total to get the car and come back home. Thank y'all!

so it's the compressor.

you missed a pretty important part there before you jump to that conclusion...

a no and a yes just means that its probably the refrigerant system, but you need to know your pressures to narrow down what part of that whole system is the problem.

I think that the knee has already jerked...

Heard back from my mechanic today who said compressor, condensor, and expansion hose all need to be replaced. I contacted the dealership I bought it from and they told me to take it to the local Lincoln Dealership and they will take care of it. Thanks for the replies, no matter how sarcastic or unnecessary.

... and expansion hose all need to be replaced....

No such thing at all.
There is a thermal expansion valve (requires the whole dash to come out), but no "expansion hose."

I certainly hope that the receiver/dryer is also being replaced...

Sounded to me like a bad cooling fan. If it cools off while at speed, the a/c is being shut down due to lack of cooling capacity. Sounds like a huge dealer rip off. I'd have the pressures checked and verified before that job.

It could be the fan, but I had exactly this issue with my 04, and it was the compressor. In any event, I don't think that the OP is paying for any of this. It sounds like the dealership that sold him the car is going to pay to fix it.

You sir are correct, I'm not paying for it. If it turns out to be the fan they'll fix that but it doesn't matter to me as long as I have cold AC for me and my son.

Glad to hear it's not your expense!

Originally I thought it would be my expense because the saleswoman I was working with wasn't answering her phone, but she returned my texts and calls today and set me up with the local Lincoln dealership for tomorrow morning. If I had known it would not be my expense I wouldn't have posted anything because it wouldn't be my concern, at any rate thanks again for everyone's responses!
