I have a 2002 Lincoln LS V8

So a friend and myself replaced the Valve cover gaskets, coils, spark plugs in about 4 1/2 hours. I figured since I was already dirty I would change the oil as well. So after I got everything buttoned up I went to start my car and it started but for only about 4 seconds then it died. I attempted a couple more times to start the car and it turns over but it won't fire at all. Just wondering if this is a common problem? I did disconnect the fuel line while changing the driver side. I also had the negative terminal off the battery during this process so do I have to use a certain key when starting it or could it just possibly be a air bubble in my line? when attempting to start it after it died I did crank it over for 7-8 seconds two times.

It does sound like it could be a fuel problem.
Turn the key from off to run, but not start. Do you hear the fuel pump under the back seat run for a couple of seconds? If so, try cycling the key off and to run till you hear the pump stop, then repeat about five times. After that, try starting it.

I would use the one it came with :D ... (use whatever key you alsways have). have you checked all the connections under the hood? Its easy to forget one on that job.

Does it matter what key I use?

If it was a PATS issue, then the starter wouldn't engage.
Did you try priming the fuel line as I suggested?
Are you sure that all the intake air connections are good? You could try starting it with the MAF electrically disconnected.

So I went to our shop where the car is stored and after doing a couple of things, I have noticed that actually the fuel pump is NOT clicking on and two days ago I had put a fully charged battery in it and it was completely dead. I will be checking the Fuel reset button along with the fuse later this afternoon. Just not sure why it would be draining the battery like that now. I have never had an issue with draining battery before
