On a Gen2, what is required to replace the front and rear brake hoses that connect to the caliper ?

Are there special tools needed ?

I know I'll have to bleed the brake lines afterwards, but I had planned on changing the brake fluid anyway.

While shopping parts, I noticed the right brake hose costs 50% more than the left. Why would that be ?

No special tools. Just couple minutes work.

to the o.p., if you're not on air you can save a few $ and get T-bird hoses without height sensor ball studs (same with UCA's).. I just did

Car hard line has to thread into the hose on frame. So yes.

eh, I just removed my old (oem) hoses and put the new ones in place...unscrewed the old from the hard line and screwed the new one on...no flaring....did i overlook something? they're not leaking, nor am I driving the car yet

I call them line wrenches, they look like this. Nothing to do with flaring per say.

Flare wrench is not a flaring tool. Flare wrench is a wrench that looks like a box end but a slit in it so it can go over brake line and grab tube nut real well.
