im sure that this topic has been covered many times but my only source for the internet is on my phone and it makes for a slow process. so if somebody could put up a few links that could answer questions like, if i can just get one from autozone or if its a dealer only type of part like so many other parts on this car. and i think i read somewhere that it is located behind the drivers side wheel, is that correct? and whenever ive done fuel filters for other cars ive always just pulled the fuel pump fuse but a friend from work sais that taking off the gas cap does the same, any truth to that? it would certanly be easier.

Fram part number G8018, it was like $5.29 or something, I checked at work last night because I was really bored.

When I changed the fuel filter, I didn't pull any fuses, remove gas cap, or anything. you will spray some gas out, but just have a rag ready. I didn't, and got gasoline all over my jeans and t shirt.

Wheel well liner is split in 2 sections. You just need to pull the firewall side one. I'd pick up a cheap set of fuel line disconnect tools if you haven't got them already.

just finished up with it and i also got gas all over my jeans and shirt. but anyways thanks for the help guys

changed my filter out several times over the past few years.

TIP: Let your car sit acouple of hours after you drive it BEFORE you change the fuel filter. This allows some of the pressure to bleed off....So when you take the lines off the filter, the pressure doesn't spew gas everywhere.

You will get gas coming out because it's flowing out whatever is in the line at the time.. but have a rag handy and you'll be fine.

OH YEAH!! DON"T PUT THE FILTER IN THE WRONG WAY! ;)

Just a heads up....When I changed it on my Mustang there is a fuel shutoff in the back of the car in the trunk (usually behind the carpet panels). You're supposed to shut off the fuel there, turn the car on, and let it runs till it stalls out. At this point try to start it again to make sure the gas is all out. Doing this ensures you won't have gas spewing everywhere. It's worked on two cars I've done it on thus far. I'll be tackling it with the Mark soon too.

+1... it's on the right hand side/passenger side near the rear seat release cable.
