As a global nomad, my current ride is one of the finest cars that I have ever owned -- a Lincoln Mark VII LSC. Last year, after driving a brand new Ford Edge over 12,000 in two months, I discovered a low mileage Mark VII in a Florida collection. Since rescuing the car from further decrepitation, I have driven her to Palm Beach twice as well as: the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Las Vegas, Scottsdale, Tucson, Gallup, El Paso, Austin, Oklahoma City, Memphis, New Orleans, Hot Springs, Hyde Park, Rhinebeck, New York, Washington, DC and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. With only 72K on the clock, the 'Blue Lily' performs like a Lincoln should, but right now, the Tripminder has gone dark - so I am looking for a repair shop or a working 1992 Tripminder. Over the years, I have owned many Cadillacs, Lincolns, Mercedes, Porsche, VWs, MGs and other British sportscars, and driven all of the grand marques including Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Alfa Romeos and Maseratis as well as Aston Martins, Lotuses, Morgans and Jaguars. I lived in the United Kingdon for 22 years, and it is certainly the mecca for classic cars and sports car racing up to the vaunted Formula One -- but for cruising the interstates of the USA -- nothing beats a good solid Lincoln or Cadillac -- especially one with air suspension.
