Ummmm....lack of acceleration, RPM's going to redline as needed but the car not accelerating anymore as the RPM's go up etc are signs of a bad torque converter. I complained about that within 2 weeks, maybe even within 1 week of me getting my car back!

yup a torque converter YOU supplied, there is absolutely no way to install a TC wrong to make it do this. the only things you can do wrong are
1: rip the seal during install. but it will leak immediately
2: not have the TC fully installed in the pump. but good luck getting everything bolted up and being able to turn the engine over

and thats about it, there is no way he could of made the internals of the converter fail during his install, but you keep going on and on with the "IF"

When I had my 94, I bought a junkyard trans from a 96,had the accumulator,springs updated ,edge racing 3000 stall and baumann shift kit installed by my tranny shop. The car was back twice after that! 1st time was a gasket on rear of the trans went bad (I had to pay $350 to have it repaired). 2nd, time torque conv seal blew out ($500) for repair not including tow! I didn't even think twice about going back to my trans guy to make him cover it! Used trans = my problem It's the nature of the beast! Cars break,s*it happens

Yes, like you if the torque converter was bad I would not expect him to fix it. If it was anything I bought new/refurbed. Don't forget I bought the tranny from him. Most on here would absolutely expect their money back if the tranny sent to them, or part sent to them was broke. I'm not even asking that, I was just asking for him to fix it if it was his fault.

Now that people are explaining that you can't install it wrong so error isn't an option... I'm starting to understand.

I'm talking on the internet because others started that with me. Look back at all my old posts and you'll see my constantly saying to others how it takes no balls to talk :q:q:q:q on the internet. Even Jamie will tell you I HATE talking on texts and pms. I've said over and over to him that people have no respect online or from a distance because there are no repercussions for their words! NEVER has Jamie ever been an ass when we were standing in front of each other.

I can't stand how society has jumped to this whole text messaging and internet bs way of talking. It's crap! I've yet to have someone that talks :q:q:q:q to me online act the same way in person, it's not that I'm some big bad motherf'r, its the fact that most men have a different level of respect in person because they know if they cross that line they are getting punched. Yeah I really didn't know. I'm borderline retarded when it comes to automatic transmissions. I don't understand them at all. I know what some of the parts are but have no clue how they work. They baffle me. Manual transmissions I fully understand.

I really didn't think of that. I thought it could possibly be installed wrong. I guess my noviceness shines through more and more with cars everyday

You are right. There are a few good guys on here that I see eye to eye with and completely respect. Surprisingly there were a few that posted on the first page I never would have thought would jump on the gossip train before hearing both sides. I was quite floored by that.

No, no, no I'm saying that because they said there were zero signs. Sure it could have seemed like other things but now we know that's not the case. I said that only because Jamie and others were saying there were no symptoms until it leaked the other day. I was showing that wasn't the case. I wasn't expecting him to know that, in fact I don't remember but I think I posted that I wouldn't expect him to think or know that because we just replaced it.

Again my words are misconstrued. What you thought I was asserting is not what I meant at all. There was no contradiction, just misunderstanding on the readers part.

Sweet since you are a legal expert where in this is a mention of parole contracts...that is if you even know what that is! They are viable agreements that absolutely are admissible in court for 4 years from the date of inception. Parole is also known as a verbal agreement, and if you can prove beyond a reasonable doubt they are in fact very valid in a court of law. Not that I'm saying I'm suing Jamie, I'm just setting this aspect to rest since you want to try to stand up and have a legal pissing contest. Oh well I thought this thread would die .... enough ... here's the solution ... Ripped Camel you need to take your car to a shop as you don't get the way it works when you ask friends to help out. You don't go pissing at them or blame them. They did their best to help you out.

When you buy used parts you get used parts they don't come with warranties .. you take the risk. When you ask a friend to work on your car you get what you get.

If it doesn't work then it's going to cost you more. It's a risk you take.
