Tuner price plus unlock fee is about the price of a new one...

Why? They sell for <$250 regularly already unlocked, and I have seen several for ~$200 recently. Add in the hassle of having to send it to SCT, and that they are not in any hurry to take care of it, and most people probably realize it is not worth the hassle. You must realize that too, otherwise you would get it unlocked and sell if for more money, right?
