OK I searched about this but I am still unclear.....Can I tune more than the timing and speed gov.
Is this like the hyptechs onces its on your car its no good unless you reset it...
Also Does anyone have one laying around they wanna sell for an 02 V6...
I found a local shop that sells them but is there any online shops....

Just wondering a couple of things I need to get something but I am just not sure what all this thing does....I am the kinda person that has to know all about it and then I research on it still before I buy it.....thanks guys

P>S> ITS Good To Be GOLD!!!! I jumped on board also....

thanks off topic dumb question....how do you change whats under your Name....I am thinking of something to put there but I dont know how to change it.....

cliock on user cp and click on edit profile it should be there under custom user title!!!

yes - the SCT dealer that sells you the XCal can do almost anything with the SCT tuning software and then include those changes in the file they send you.

You can purchase the 'Pro Racer' package from an SCT dealer which give you the same tuning software the dealer uses to make tunes - only it's locked to a single car.

On the handheld itself - it depends on how the dealer sets up your file - but on the handheld you can adjust many things - timing, injector size, ...etc - but those change points must be added into the file created by your tuner.

well - more than purchasing it - knowing how to use it....

It is very complicated - sooooo many options - I have had it on my list for a while now - but I not comfortable yet that I know enough about tuning that I can stop using a professional tuner....

I just bought a wideband - so that's the starting point..... ;)

O hell I would not be doing this my self (4 say) I know a guy who builds race cars(1600+HP) and he know alot about motors.....So I have a secert weapons...LOL

Just to give you a heads up. Knowing allot about motors and even building motors is TOTALLY different from tuning them electronically. Getting the PRP package is no joke and unless you really plan on racing that thing seriously on a daily basis and almost professionally, then I dont reccomend getting it. While it is a great package with endless options, it is for the extremely savvy home/small garage tuner only. You would probably be best served buying just the Xcal 2 and sticking with a skilled tuner, getting some good dyno time with an A/F reading and tune and still save some money. I highly doubt that you will be changing enough things around often enough to warrant the extra cost and time of the PRP package. It does sound cool but probably 99% of people on this site and even many other muscle car sites wont need it. Your choice, just trying to help.

OK so i talked to a guy in my area and this is what he told me......

You are looking at $620 for an x-cal2 flasher, tuning, and 2hrs of dyno time with wideband. NA and N2O tunes on the flasher. Let me know if you want to set it up...

Do you think that this is fair or a little high......

the XCal2 is $399 comes with 3 tunes
a wideband is $199
dyno time $50 - $75 and hour

sounds about right....

This is the best advice you have been given. I have done quite a bit of tuning with a laptop and various software. I have a pretty good grasp of what to look for and where to find and change it...and how those changes affect the performance of the vehicle. But even with that, there are times I get "lost" in all the code and have to back out and start over. It really can be overwhelming depending on how sophisticated your software is. As much as I've played around with it, I still pay a tuner to tune my Cobra. I know my limitations and the consequences of an error are very severe in that car. I HIGHLY recommend you hire someone who does this every single day and is intimate with not only the chosen software, but the vehicle code itself. You're asking for a lot of headaches otherwise.
