So yesterday a guy contacted me about purchasing my 2001 LS and came out to look at it. He came out and I explained the issues it had when I brought it and what I had done to fix it. Then I explained to him what I was going to do if I was to keep it which was the plugs, coils and possible electric fan. He suggested I go ahead and do the coils and stuff along with the fan. I figured out the issue with the fan not getting up to speed so now everything with that is fine. I went on ahead and changed out the coils and plugs since I haven't done it since I brought the car (I've had it for 5 months now). I took it for a test drive to check my handy work and I must say that was a big mistake. The mist is gone and the pick up is really responsive now. If I wasn't second guessing myself before the work I'm definitely doing it now. I'm going to take it on a nice weekend cruise and he may get a "That's ok I'm not selling it now" call on Sunday. Here's a run down of the work done since purchase:

Degausse bottle
Transmission rebuild
Thermostat housing and thermostat
plugs and coils
of course oil and filter
fuel filter
coolant flush and fill
K&N air filter

Honestly I brought it just because I liked the way it looks never thought the ride would be this good. After this work I've done it seems to be twice as better than when I first brought it. So confused don't know what to do............................

All depends on the replacement. Will it give you as much driving pleasure or be just another appliance in a sea of appliances? What about payments? Is the LS payed-off? You have already corrected the main issues so why not just keep it until it becomes too expensive to maintain? Personally, when repairs start costing as much as a car payment I start shopping.

Oh its paid off free and clean and I stand to double my money from what I paid for it. Actually not after the work has been done but man she is riding good and smooth.................... I'm going to give it 2 days he better call me by Saturday that's all I'm saying.

Screw the 2 days he got a text today deal is off. On my way to the car wash now.............................#LuvinmyLS#

My LS payment costs about as much as 4 Motorcraft coils............I am confused by this logic.

I'm figuring about a $500 monthly payment. When I start paying that much per month in repairs it's time for a new car.

If your LS is averaging more than 4 coils every month, then you really do need to start looking for a new car!!!
