I just finished this myself. Its a pain in the ass to get things removed to get that timing chain cover off, but well worth the effort and expense of swapping out everything new in there.
So I'm starting to lean towards removing the head on my LS that blew the primary chain, any advice on tearing the head out? What did you decide on?? I have a local machine shop that said they would look at rebuilding the head for me if I can manage to get it off... They were however not certain they could do it, the guy said "I can look at it", maybe id be better off going the used head route??
