separator plate gasket

just was wondering if this is the correct gasket to use on a 98 mark viii valve body im going to be doing a jmod tomorrow and im confused as to weather this one will work or not thanks!

That is a separator plate gasket, which one? We don't know. You need to look up the part specific to your transmission.

the part numbers only go up to 97 in this article my car is a 98 and i thought they had a different valve body, my separator plate should look like the image on the left but my gasket is the one on the right, my confusion is some people have said this gasket is used for 96-00 4r70w's and some say there is a different one all together for the 98+ transmissions, so im confused as to whether or not this will work and id rather not drop the valve body to find out i have the wrong one. so anyone with a 98 jmod car would be of great help. thanks for the article tho, good info ill use

1996-2000 all the same,yours looks like it has blue stripe,2001 up,should have yellow stripe for 96-00.you also need upper and plate gaskets.

Mine at home does have the yellow, that's just a pic I pulled off the Internet, it just seemed a little odd to me because the additional holes in the gasket and different sizes of them, thanks for clarification

always check gasket to seperator plate.a lot of people have had problems with the gaskets,especaly the upper=poor quality.
