Hey guys, just found the site. I have a 96 Towncar that I want to do some serious modifications to. I'm not sure where to start though. I want the car to be able to be a daily driver, although I won't be driving on the street a lot.

I'm looking for BIG hp numbers. like 500+ I want to fit a set of skinnies and slicks for the track. Convert to manual gearbox. Serious internal mods for the 4.6, or swap to bigger motor? Power adder? I'm not gonna gut the car though. Full weight. What are the things I should know?

I get to build the Ford GT supercar isn't that fn awesome, ive got a Crown Vic I want to power up the thought of a bad ass town car is what ive been trying to get the engineers at ford to do but i get blank looks when i talk about horsepower with these guys, no wonder lincoln has no direction.

Why Didnt You Just Get A Freaking Mustang!?!?!?

because I don't want a mustang

:L

haven't been able to work on the project yet, but I'm still gonna do it. Probably start it later this year.

Definately a forged 4.6L big single turbo, or maybe twin. Built auto trans and big converter, 9" and slicks. And all the little stuff that goes with it.

Wow.. its only been over a year... So anyway... your going to want to swap your 4.6 windsor for a 5.0 windsor, which you can get from a explorer, and go from there...

yeah, its been longer than i thought :(

I've been working on finishing my L92 415 stroker motor for my 98 Z28. should be done before Christmas. I also bought a 07 GSXR 600 to satisfy my need for speed for the moment.

As far as forged/built goes, is the 5.0 better for boost than the 4.6? I've seen some nasty 4.6's out there at the track.
