shifter handle od wire inside

ok so i got a couple of shifter handles and im trying to swap one into my 94. both of the ones i got when i pulled them the plastic piece that the o.d wire hooks to came out i thought nothing of it. i pulled the one in my car off and it stayed in with the od wire hanging out with a connecter on it. how do i remove the plastice and wire to put it in the replacement?

MARK VIII 93-96 install Shift Knob

For the Mark VIII 93-96 it's important to change the OD button first because of the way the electrical contacts work:
1. Carefully take out the O/D button.
2. Take out the shift knob fastening;
3. Carefully remove the shift knob;
To install a new shift knob do these steps in reverse order because of the O/D button contacts! (It is possible to damage contacts of the O/D button!)

ok got another problem.... i got a set of cupholder/ashtray doors today and decided to put them in. since had the console pulled i figured i'd try n fix the overdrive wire since its never worked. i picked up a newer well routed thing while i was pullin parts. now i ended up pulling the whole console looking for the other end to plug it and found nothing but the phone jack cord. i searched from the back seat all the way up into the dash. so where should i look to find where they enter the car from the tranny? the previous owner was a tweaker and did random stupid s*** to the car.

If you have a spare black shifter handle, I know of another member here who could really use it.

who is this member? i know of one that wants it but told me to hold off for a little while. i do have an excellent condition black one w/ chrome knob, od button, and the wire and connector to go with it. have the person in need pm me and ill get them some pics and we will talk price and payment

I believe the wire goes into the trans wire harness but it has been a while since I have mess around with one of those. A while back I broke the wire in the handle to I just wired up the OD off to the traction control switch.

spree .... we've talked about mine and u wanted to wait. also ill send you the switches soon i found them last night

i came across 2 at the same yard and snagged both there isnt a flaw in either one. they just have a chrome button(which is blinding when the sun hits it). my stock 94 shifter has a black button but the part that goes in the spring is gone and the end that hooks around the shifter is broke. ill take $20+shipping if anyone wants the perfect one i have.

I working with one of the other guy's on a shifter handle. Black with black button in pretty good shape. Will let you know if it doesn't happen, but looks good so far. Thank's aimone!
As far as the window switch goes it doesn't matter what color it is as long as it's a gen 1. I just want to take it apart to see if I can put led's in it for practice before taking mine apart.
