If you are hearing rattles in the rear when you are hitting bumps 95% it's the shock mounts..
Go buy Thunderbird rear shocks as your shock are worn enough to warrant replacement. I alway use 1996 Model for the year.. Cost will be about $40 for the set of shocks.
Pull off shock mounts from the old shocks and clean out the old rubber. You can use a torch and burn out the rubber if you like. Then use the rubber bushing that come with the new shocks and wa-la... you have eliminated your rumble in the trunk and you now have a new smooth ride.
