Shock tower covers

I have an 03' and wanted them also. It was a cost savings thing done to the second generation... Seems rediculous but thats the story. I went to a junk yard, found a first gen LS and took them. A little armor all and they looked brand new.

Correct, they eliminated both shock tower covers and rear doors silver Lincoln threshold plate on the 2nd gen for cost savings.

OK, not to beat a dead horse or anything, but...

I got my covers that Rollin sent out, and by the way, the things were damn near perfect! Thanx again Rollin!

Anyway, the passenger side snapped right on, no problem. The drivers side has only one hole that I can use to attach to the car. The two holes on the vertical side have nothing to attach to. It appears that there's maybe another peice or maybe a different bracket the Gen1's use. I'm debating just getting another passenger side cover. Has anyone else ran into this?

Thanx guys.

I know for a fact several guys have used two passenger side covers. I believe there is some minor modification required to get the passenger side to fit on the driver side but it works. Looks nice too, not having the upper portion that covers something besides the bolts.

I'm just using mine with that one hole. Two passenger side covers would be a good idea

A nylon zip tie will snug it in place. Run it thru the two holes in the cover and around the valve. Use a black one to blend in better.

I chucked mine in the dumpster along with the other covers that just held heat and hid the engine. If I knew they were such a hot item, I would have sent them your way.

Only the '03 had the rear sill covers. Good luck getting them now. I got them early so both my '06es have them.

I took them off my '03, before I traded it in, and put them on my '06.

Hmm... now I'm curious to know if my Gen1 LSE has them? And does anyone know if the Gen2 front door sill bottoms will fit in the Gen1? The Gen1 Lincoln stamp is to small I'd prefer something more dominant.

My 06 has them as well.

Then someone added them. They were deleted to save ~$4 per car starting the '04 MY. There were mounting holes in the sill of the '0 that aren't in any other MY. In order to put these on (if you can even find them) is to cut off the mounting posts and use double-sided tape to affix them.

Had a brain fart and i dont have them just the trim but not the letters.

Those rear door sills is something that the aftermarket could easily make (maybe FALECF4 could tackle this one?) The market would be small though.

I found this for those who want to fabricate their own generic rear sill covers:

Here is another view of the factory covers from another poster on LVC

Same here!!! One of the first things I did was take that stuff off my car.
