Powell OH!....................IO!
I have a wierd problem. My drivers side mirror will not keep it's programmed position on drivers setting one.

My wife and I drive to work together. I drive to work, she gets in the drivers seat and goes the rest of her way to work. She drives to my work to get me, I drive the rest of the way home. Saves lots of $ on gas and parking.

In all this switching, we use the pre-programmed seat positions often. My position will no longer stay with the drivers side mirror. It always goes all the way down and in (defalut maybe?) I reprogram it, it stays for a day or so then craps out again. It is really annoying, especially when I forget about it and try to merge onto the freeway staring at my door handle.

What can I do to fix this? Her setting still works. Is it something in the PCM? Is it something in the GEM? Is it something in the mirror itself?

hey man... I hear ya... and mine does the same thing!! Sometimes when I hit the button, it'll go to the right position. But usually, it will shoot straight south, hitting the stop a couple times before it quits moving. I just don't mess with it very often, so it's not a big problem for me. But I would be interested in a fix for it!

Yeah, I'm baffled with this one. I'm not sure where the settings are even stored. It could be the PCM or it could be the GEM or it could be some other module that I'm not even aware of.

BTW, Nice Avatar...

Hooah!!!! Follow Me!

9 out of 10 its usually its the mirror, the motor starts to crap out and it wont move one direction or another for a sec, so the drivers door module stops trying to make it move

i got a similar thing, the easy exit is off and for some reason when i unlock my car the seat decides to move all the way forward and up so not even the smallest of people could get in...

any idea's on this?

Also, did any of the LS's have an auto reverse mirror function? You know, where it tilts down so you can see better where your tire is. My buddy's STS does it, but I've not found anything about my LS doing it.

btw... thanks chris!

Drivers Mirror Issue and Seat Position

I have the same issue with the drivers side mirror and I'm about to take it in to be looked at under warentee. I beliece it's the actual motor in the mirror that delays it's movement at various times while the preset is being recalled.

Regarding the seat and wheel / mirror moving upon remote entry... be aware that each remote has a preset position that is stored for preset 1 or 2. It sounds like your remote is calling up the wrong preset. There is a section in the manual that describes how to set this.

Best of Lick with it!
