I realize that, but my old 4.0 V6 Explorer sounds like it has more behind it than my V8 LS.
The factory exhaust on the LS is very restrictive. But even with flowmasters the LS doesn't have that typical American V8 rumble. It has a euro sound.

I know about the rev limiter. I just think it's a crap idea. I miss the look on the driver's face when he realizes he's putting his rice-burning 4-banger against something that has 4 more cylinders.
And even a small V8 can sound like it has a pair...

you can clearly see that it is a three dimensional chamber, not a flat stamped piece of metal.
I'm really not sure what else you would call a big chamber with a couple of layers of honeycomb material in it.

Neither of my '06s has that piece. Their systems are exactly like the one on the '00.
Educate yourself a bit on the LS.
Its a small V8, will not sound cammed or like a pushrod motor and it does not rev past 3K due to the rev limiter.
They must have screwed up mine as it will rev to 6.5k before it cuts out.
