I have one of those portable Sirius radios, and I am trying to figure out a way to clean up the wiring. Is there a way for me to install a cigarette lighter port up under my dash? I am wanting to route the wires up from under the dash and only have the radio and the end of the antenae visible. If there is such a thing, where could I tape into power? I appreciate the help!

me too

Hey I have one also what i did was get some double sided take and stick it right above my ac vents and ran the wires out from the back of vents and boom done as far an wiring it up under dash easy you have choice cut the cig light adpt off *no good for me* or buy a two way adtp from walmart or anywhere and cut it and wire that to power source and plug cig light into it * not sure if you understand what i mean * or you can splice into the wires and wire them up * used connectors that pintched on and no cutting or anything I can pull everything out and never tell it was installed! I will take some pics tonight of everything im talking about. dont have camera and about to go to school

Mine is HARDLY a professional installation. However, it might be some food for thought. I removed to ashtray assembly, door and wud trim. I then fitted a plastic mounting plate that I fashioned out of the top of a cat litter container. I mounted the reciever to to it, screwed the plate into lighter assembly mounting holes and snapped the wud trim back into place. It's very sturdy. As for wiring, I came off a fuse in the passenger kick panel with one of those fuses that turns one into two. The other end is a "Y" adaptor that gives you two lighter ports. I plugged the reciever into one and let the other stick out between the center console and the dash near the floor. It's easy enough to plug your phone into, yet barely visible. All the wires are either behind the dash or running inside the console, well under the passenger seat, under the door molding and into the trunk. My antenna is mounted just behind the brake light on the rear deck. The hotwire is on an "always on" fuse, but the receiver has an auto-off function, so I don't sweat it.

Now that you know how I did it. Perhaps someone who actually knows what they're doing can offer some suggestions!

NICE do you ever hit it with the hand tho? I was thinkin about doing to there also put i dont want to knock it off or my luck crack the screen on day putting in into park (dont ask I m not Puching it into gears just bad luck

Thanks for ideas! They are both great installs. I just want to hide the wires as my main goal. So you can go to like walmart or some auto parts place and find a plug on like a pig tail to install? If so that would be great!

There's about a half inch between the receiver and shift knob, when in park. I made a slight adjustment in how I hold the knob. It's not a big deal for me and some receivers may afford more clearance there.

Shltn- try Radio Shack

A company called Pro-Fit makes a "Vehicle Specific Mount" (VSM) that installs perfectly in the LS and pretty much any sort of satellite radio or MP3 player can be mounted to it.

OK so here are my pics Dont know why all my stuff looks dirty! I just cleaned it and there are not finger print when you just look at it (SCARY just saw white noise so maybe this camera is looking at something else)
the last pic is the old setup

OK, so I think I have found my way of mounting, but I still have a question. What is the best way to wire the power? I have bought and light plug extension that I will cut the one end off. I want to know how to hard wire it in, and I also need to know where I can get a cut off signal at. The egnition fuse maybe? I want the power to that plug to be disables once I turn off the car. Thanks!
