So i got a tranny rebuilt im very much happy with the outcome the car drives like it never did before. But something has me puzzled it was smoking before the rebuilt and now it keeps on smoking, and i smell burnt tranny fluid. I know it was leaking really bad before the rebuilt and the tranny shop said to drive it around a bit so that the oil burns off the exhaust. Now how long should it take for all the oil to burn off...should i hose the bottom of the car to speed up the process or what?

drove it around right now and it hasnt smoked...ill keep an eye on it and see what happens if not im taking it back...maybe they didnt put one of the seals on right or something.

I would check the dipstick tube for the transmission. Those are a bear to deal with and if they were even the least bit reckless, they could have wrecked the o-ring and/or tube and it is leaking where the tube seats into the case of the transmission. If you can get the car up on a hoist, you would know for sure right away but I would sure as hell make them do it. They are likely responsible for this one.

I think at this point dude the continuum transfunctioner in your Mark is worn. I suggest swapping for a new one or a refurbished one. :p

Is that the thingee that makes it continuum to go forward at different speeds? (well, sometimes backwards too)?

Like your new sig collage, that G2 on bottom right is da shizzle, my daughter loves the color... flag tag is icing on the cake.

Yes! The continuum gear ratio might be wrong on his car. By the way, I don't think he's going to reply to this thread anytime soon though. He text me, he's @ the beach drunk with family for a father's day weekend. :) I wish I was there but I couldn't make it!

Thanks for the props on the new collage. As for the flag? I have a confession to make, I turned it on it's back, painted it prairie tan & put the Lincoln logo on it. Look closely at the thread I started a couple days ago & you will see the new tag.
