Has it ever been done?

By smoothing, i mean removing the 'hump' and having the lid smooth across, similar to the T-birds. Im looking at a gen2 rear, and it looks like it would be a matter of cutting out the center section and shaping to match the sides. or have some fun with fiberglass.

I am cutting into almost every panel on Stacks mark, and that is one thing that never even crossed my mind.... the mark is the hump!

It has been done before, I saw it forever ago. Go look on Markviii.org, thats where I saw it last.

If you cut the hump off it would look like this. :barf:

Leave the hump alone, it is an integral part of the vehicles aerodynamics package. It helps airflow coming over the roof, remerge when exiting the vehicle.

I think Geno? photoshopped a gen 2 without a hump. It didn't look like a photoshop either. And it just didn't look right I didn't think. If it wasn't Geno it was somebody. Straight on rear shot.

I agree, you get rid of the hump, you're killing the whole car.

Laser posted what I was going to if you
got rid of the the hump you would have
An infinity

to me thats a Mark tradition. Every Mark had a hump...the hump started out with actually having a spare tire inside. I dont think it should be smoothed out I mean thats my opinion.

I want to see one without a hump... I think it would look a bit like the earlier sables.

I saw one, the guy used part of the skin off a cont. It wasn't bad looking with the spoiler he had. I think the spoiler came from a tbird body kit. If not for the spoiler it would have looked awful!
