So what comes first...

Oh and my LS is faster than yours Petey so I dont really care if you have more posts. I can have a tenth of the amount you do and it wont bother me one bit.

Ok, it sounds to me like you're looking for the very beginning of the whole cycle of starting an engine, right? In that case... technically it would have to start at the battery. Since it is the only active source of energy in the car... it just needs to be released... hence turning the key... opening up the flow like a valve to the starter. According to what you were saying... that would have to be point A? right?

Well I don't knwo where this whole post is going, but if you are looking for the best torque to HP ratio. And i'm assuming this is what you are really after. Just look at the higher end sports cars (the exotics if you will), They are all pretty much at 450ft/lb minimal and 500Hp and up. And even lesser sports cars are close to each other in their numbers also. Just like love and marriage " You can't have one without the other"

torque is not just created, its converted, burning fuel releases stored energy, then that energy is converted via piston, rod, and crank from linear motion (piston moving away from top of cyclinder) into rotational motion (crank spinning). which is then measured in torque, i think your just tring to over think it.

No no no, it all started with the dinosaurs that died and decayed over milions of years into oil which was then extracted and refined into gasoline and finally pumped into your car :D

I believe it starts...

"In the beginning, there was nothing..."

No, no, no, no, it all started with the Big Bang about 14 billion years ago.

Generally speaking, bore size dictates horsepower and stroke size dictates torque. As previously stated, gearing is used to multiply torque output to the wheels since most cars do not create enough power to move a vehicle from a dead stop by itself.

Lol, its making sense to me now after sleeping it over, I had a good 5 hours of dreaming how the motor works in my head... I have a gigantic headache now :(
