I have a 94' Lincoln Continental Executive Series and there are a few things I want to add/change.

1. My father forgot the combination for the keypad on the doors. How do i get the combination or change it?

2. My father also lost the keyless entry key fobs. How hard would it be to have these replaced or changed?

3. Also, I would like to add a remote starter. It gets cold here in Michigan and i would like to have a warm car to run to. :p Any suggestions on a certain brand?

Thanks for any help. I really appreciate it.

For they key code look in the trunk on the right side hinge. It should still be there. Go to the Lincoln Dealer for the new fobs. Only place you can get them replaced since they are coded.

if the code isn't on the trunk hinge... heres how to get to the module to read it off there...

Look behind the front of the trunk lining.. the module should be there mounted to the back of the rear seat area. The code is printed on a label on that (5 digits, always, no more or less)

as far as the remote starter, any major brand SHOULD work ok with the Essex Conti.

Thanks guys! I found the numbers and it works great :) I'll check on the fobs tomorrow.

You mentioned that I should look for a major brand....but to be honest I really don't know what the major brands are. I've never looked for this kind of thing before lol.

when i lived in michgan that remote start was a dream come true.. with that stuff man just seach around to price things out.. its definatly the thing to do

I got a remote start for my Continental last winter and it came with 2 key fobs that start the car, lock and unlock the doors and trunk so you can
kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Two Old Systems

A slight bit off topic here guys but I have a 94 conti that has two remote systems. The factory door/trunk/panic and a "delta" remote starter.
The delta was put in very poorly it would seem (see profile pics) and I think its affecting my oil message/check engine. I'm not sure if thats possible or not but it would seem that whenever I move it I get more error messages on the dash. I could be imagining it but thats how it seems.
My local shops all quoted me 150-225$ to remove both old systems and then another 250$ to install a new one, not including the cost of the starter.

Am I simply ignorant or does that seem quite high? Also, do you think taking the old systems out is something I could do on my own or do I risk my electrical system?

Thoughts?
