I had a 1990 volvo with the peanut butter interior. Never again. An actual tan color would be nice though. I personally don't like brown on anything except my furniture. Oddly enough, many cows are brown, hence brown leather. So are you going to stick black Saleens on it?
 
no i am ordering brand new bullitts for it. black with the polished lips, 18-9 front and 18-10 rears and shoving 315's in the rear. i just looked at a black wingless 2000 gt last night on the way home from my parents house, i had my camera and i didnt take a pic, i dont know why i think because i stood there with such a boner nothing else mattered, it looked just like mine with tinted windows and no wing, and it had black bullitts on it, and after seeing it in person i fell in love, i was leaning toward those, but once i saw it there was no more thinking, and he had 315-35's on the rear my god did the car look sick as hell from the rear!
 
Holy crap! I go into the woods for a couple weeks and Jamie buys a mustang!?!? How could this happen? Who pays more for a downgrade? :D

old exactly, a thing of the past. i'm sorry i like marks but they are not gods gift the automobile industry, some of you guys get a little too carried away with your marks, like they were the best car put on earth, far from it, like i said i do like them and always will, but in reality today the mark VIII is a downgrade from many cars, specially when you can buy them in great shape for 1400 dollars, just compare kelly blue book or retail prices from a 99 mustang gt to a 98 mark VIII , see which one holds a higher value, it isnt a downgrade in my book, not to any of my marks, i could flip the car right now for more than i paid for it without even blinking an eye. i have wanted a mustang for a long long time, years and years, and i never had the money for any v-8 mustang from 99-04 which is the style i like best, so now that i finally have one, if you see it as a down grade i really dont care, maybe it is a down grade, but since i wanted it, and had the money to buy it, i did, and i am very happy with it, and thats all that matters really, we all like what we like for our own reasons. the best part is half the members on here own other cars too, and i have seen posts, pics and read all about their problems or their progress and i never once cracked any comments about what other rides people own because i dont care what people drive, like i said we all like what we like for a reason, but alot of you who only own marks really dont know what other cool cars there are out there, you think your lincoln is the best thing since sliced bread!!

Car looks great Jamie. Glad you got something you are happy with and good luck with it. I have a few mustangs myself and have recently been talking myself out of picking up an 04 Cobra. I think you will enjoy owning something you don't need 2 parts cars to keep fully fuctional. I love my Mark but damn its a pain sometimes compared to the Mustangs. People give me hell all the time because I drive a POS 96 Thunderbird everyday and not one of my "nicer" cars. Just shrug your shoulders and tell em they don't have to drive it and don't worry about it.

You took me too seriously jamie. lol. I like Mustangs, and i've owned a ton of other cars. I always considered the Mustang as "Mark's redneck cousin". LMAO
 
car is getting dropped off at RMP Performance tomorrow so my buddy john can rebuild the rear diff, i bought a diff rebuild kit from napa tonight, and picking up 3:73's on the way to his shop from GearHeads tomorrow and he is going to rebuild the whole rear end, new u-joints and exhaust all in one shot, then when i get it back home i am installing new rear control arms cuz the bushings are doo doo in them too. i did however put the new wheels on tonight, 03-04 chrome cobra wheels 17x9. i think the car looks a million times better, i hate the stock gt wheels so bad that came on the car.

If you are gonna get new LCAs then make sure to get sperical bearings on both sides. BBK are an excellent value. MM is excellent but they are pricey. Stay away from UPR.

You would be wise to get a full length subfram connector for that car that comes with torque box reinforcments. ebay has a great set I just installed on Jacksus Cobra and they were under $140 for the set. They make the car feel sooooooooooooo much better its insaine ford didnt do it from the factory.

Since you are going steeper gears and better LCAs that means you are gonna be launching the car. A couple good "hooks" and you can rip the torque box out super easy. Thats why I say get the FLSFCs with the TQ box plates and have them fully welded.

And for the love of gawd get new headlights. Those things are horendous. Check these out I got for $150 on ebay. Everyone loved them and the car looked mean with them.

I also did smoked tails for$150 and the quality was excellent. Still very visable during the day too. For another $50 I added the sequential kit and that looked so kille. Kit comes with everything to rewire the lights so the inner light also illuminates so they can do the 1-2-3 order light up with the turn signals. Also when you first hit the brakes both sides do the 1-2-3 outward lightup then stay illuminated. Simple little things and made a HUGE impact on the cars looks.

Also to spend more of your money notice the side skirts on the Cobra. They are cheap and look 100x better then the GT ones. They make the entire car look lower, wider and meaner. Also the 03/04 Cobra spoiler is dead sexy. *drools*
 
Jamie, it is cool to see you doing what is making you smile, same as Bill with his 740. It all comes down to what moves you.
I myself have been trying for the last 10 or 15 years to go back to what moves me and that is a replacement for my 1972 Ford Capri. I had a beautiful one when I was 16 and I beat on that car like a red headed step child and ruined it. I have regretted that since the day it went away.
Look what I found last night, she is not as beautiful as she could be but there is so much potential I am really thinking seriously that this is going to be coming home to me.
2.6 litre 4 speed, same motor and color as my original 72. So many memories and there is and has been a huge smile on my face since last evening.

Do what moves you!!!

yes yes, one thing at a time, its not like i have a money tree and all kinds of free time lol. thats why they call it progress, you post as you make it, if i could do it all over night what fun would it be lol!! i am gonna try to go to the junk yard tomorrow and just walk around for trinket crap, i need 2 ac vents, i need the rubber pad for the brake pedal, i want to replace the trunk carpet, i want to find a deck lid off a v-6 with no wing, i want to replace the hood, i want the headlights like bill posted above lots of stuff to do but my wife will get pissed if i smoke right through our tax money, so i will slowly do these things with my paychecks instead, its not fair that i go spend crazy with our taxes, its her money too!

I have a 92 F-150 with a 5.0 with 152K miles on the clock that burns as much oil as your Mustang. (Assuming that is none) So there!
