Somebody please! help me..!

Yea Joe. My method of cleaning it onvlves
smacking it against the driveway to knock out some of the dirt and debris.

Whatever works :)

The problem with that is that some/much of the dirt will migrate all the way through the filter and come out through the air vents. The filter isn't really doing anything then, so you might as well just toss it.

Isn't the message center just on a countdown of vent usage for that thing though? Like you could literally put a brand new one in and it tell u it needs changed after a season of driving - but if you inspect it, it is still fairly new?

Mine is due for a change, but I have driven with it through two message center notifications to tell me to change it, and it is about to tell me to change it for the 3rd time probably this Spring.

I mean unless I am totally obliterating the filter to clean it, I don't think I am making the filter a ton more porous than before.

i did my cabin filter about two weeks. its a PITA just for a filter. i ended up braking 4 of those clips, but the filter only cost me around 25 from the dealership and another 4 for the clips. you just have to take the three off the passenger side cowl and try a peel it back and you will see the filter under there.

Man, people jump wuick on this when its a girl.lol. I thought it was a guy posting pics of his girls. Thats cool, there are some women into the ls. Just dont go turning it all girly. Oh the the wipers come off, you just have to pull up, hard. I think there is a nuton there and once you take that off you just have to pull up on it. Mine were really tight so I got some plyers and I flat head and forced it up.

Yes, it is just a countdown. It doesn't sense the filter or dirt in any way. So far the count down has been correct for me. Each time it says to change it, I look and the filter is no longer white, so I put a new one in and reset the message.

Funny how everyone helps out when a woman is offering up pics in return.

That being said, more please :gr_devil:

Come on pete, do you know any straight guys that won't help a pretty lady? if so slap them.

Hey ZBooBoo, just remove the rubber piece that goes over where the wiper attaches the the wiper arm. when you remove it you will see the nut you need to remove to take the wiper off. then remove that plastic piece, change the filter, and then put it back together. if you lived in my area I would GLADLY change it for you. Hope what I wrote helps.

sorry my bad..lolz

Your bad????
Tommy are you going soft... or maybe hard.

I say its a dude using pics to yank a few chains around here, Lincoln jealous would be my guess.

I agree it's probablly one of the many "multiple accounts" that a few users have registered.

Those fitler up here are just over $60.00 buck up here and of course you have to buy them from the dealer

ebay has them for less. You can get the carbon activated filter for ~$30.

I just push the blade against the window a few times and it loosens the arm from the post.

Just press Satus untill the air filter 0% shows up and press and hold reset.... you'll be good to go :D

If you have access to compressed air, you can easily clean the filter by blowing the dirt off the paper pleats. I blow it off both front and back. An old mechanic's trick is to hold the filter up to sunlight. If you can see light thru it, it is clean enough.

You might be able to use the air coming out of some vacuum cleaners if you don't have compressed air. Not as good but usually good enough.

The reset filter message is purely based on mileage, nothing to do with dirt or cycles etc. The manual says it counts up to 15,000 miles and then it is time to change the filter.

Good Luck,

Jim Henderson

Hey, didn't she promise more pics?

Hmph, we'll see if anyone helps her next time... lol.

Thank You Thank You Thank You!

Youre all far too kind! haha as Jay would put it.. But no im not some other creepy ls owner MAN that needs quicker attention than the rest haha Im really a girl. Thats 19. And owns my own lincoln ls. Haha. And for you pektel.. Many more photos ;]

Just to show how much i appreciate everyones input on the site.

Ok so Im going to go outside and attempt it again. But its really not required to change it when it says it is? Cause my check engine light is staying on and my car is idling rough and stalling like it cant keep up or something..? So i figured it was all caused by my filter? I guess Ill find out once I change it..

The AC filter has nothing to do with your car running rough, you could check your engine air filter, but if your check engine light is on you have something more serious than a dirty air filter. :(

Hey Sweetie, I think you more problems right than the AC filter. Sounds like the coils are going bad on you, how many miles on the LS?

Yes, that is the most likely thing. If you have less than 100K miles, then the coils and VCGs are still covered 100% by Ford warranty.

+1 I think you have a bad coil. You can go to your nearest autozone and they will scan your car's computer. After that you will know more about the reason your check engine is on and why your BooBoo is feeling bad. Post the results and maybe we can help you get your car running perfect again.

Omg

Ok.. so. I just tried driving my car to autuozone and it started smoking and getting ready to overheat..? I want to cry! ha.

But I was having my friend look at it and its raining so my engine got a few drops on it. Could the smoke be from that?

And Im about to change my filter right now and probably have it towed home if it doesnt stop smoking.. Im so irritated ugh. I JUST had my car serviced not even 2 weeks ago. And THEN a reinspection because Ford doesnt document whatevers wrong with my car when I have it serviced like wtf. This is getting so frustrating. All i want is for her to run right.

Shes only at about <92,000 miles and I get her serviced at every point because I get it for free from Ford.

Could they be not telling me whats really wrong so when my car does fall apart they are liable?

I love Fords I really do but goodness.. Im tired of being found on the road DEAD!

;[

Sorry.. Im sad now. Ill post more pictures when I find out whats really wrong..
