So I just picked up a used tranny for my 94 mark.
The trans has 90k on it, only paid 150 for it.

But the question is, does anyone have any kinds of tips or anything before I go at this project of switchin them out.
Anything stupid thats gonna piss me off while doin this, something I should know about or anything

Check out my "9.5 inch converter install"thread for the trans ear that catches on the EGR tube on gen1's. Also you should drop pan and check 1-2 acumulator for broken spring and galling.

I just installed all the new stuff for the 1-2 accumulator in the old trans, figured that might have solved the problem, but it didnt. So il pull that stuff out and put it in the replacement trans, and prob end up doin the j mod to it as well. Also thinkin while im in there might as well replace the solenoids.

what was your problem with the current trans that made you replace the parts in it? if replacing the 1-2 accumulator and springs didnt help, it might be a dead convertor. it depends on how is was acting i guess. just be happy you dont have kooks headers on your car if you are gonna pull that trans because if i could have found some real dynomite , i may have used it on mine this weekend!!

The original trans was doin all kinds off wrong stuff. delayed shifting, revving out in gears, shift hunting, not shifting at all....U name it. But before all those things started happening I decided to pullthe pan and do the 1-2 accumulator stuff, ended up being that both upper and lower springs were broke and piston was beat up.
