Well as of today, like literally an hour ago I became an LS'less owner after I went and got the deal I was looking for. I'm mixed about my feelings right now because I loved my baby LS, but at the same time happy that I actually got one of the cars on my list and at a good payment. What did I get?

Its an '06 Chevy Cobalt LT. Its rally yellow w/ black interior(nice I think compared to all my cavaliers). Its a 5-speed manual, has cruise, XM satellite radio, pwr sunroof, windows and locks. Not too bad of a sound system. I like that is also has an information center like the LS did, I hate that it does not have an engine temp gauge but overall I'm pleased considering the step down and not to one of my top cars on the list but those were next to impossible to get under what I was paying for the LS.

My payments have now gone from 469.29 to 399. It is alittle more actually but that is cause I got the extended warranty(cheaper now than after the reg. falls off) and I also got gap insurance which I'm sure everyone knows what that is. I normally skip those options but I figure its nice to have a better warranty right off so if I do trade in after the reg. is done that well help and if I do decide this car sucks I can total it and it'll be all covered hahahahaha, just messing.

They gave me $14,500 for the LS which was alot better than some of the places I went too but not as good as Hyundai offering me almost $17K, and the reason I past on that was cause I was still way over my LS payment going for a Tiburon GT LTD.

So I guess thats it, I well get pics like I always do, so if you care to see 'em than I well post a few hear. I know its not an LS:( but after a few years I just may get one again as a second car(mmmm, an '06 sounds nice).

And about the intake system I was going to take off and sell, they included that in the appraisel so I do not have it, I do however have the stock one minus a couple clamps so if anyone wants that make an offer I guess.

Can I still come around and see whats up? Or should I leave lol.

Know this:
That Cobalt will not make you happy like your LS did. You remind me of those guys that leave their wife for some fling at work and then come crawling back once they realized what a DUMB mistake they made...but it's too late...she's no longer there.
A Cobalt?
Well, maybe it's just my taste but i wouldnt have done it.
Good luck....and sure. Keep checking in...if that makes you feel better..LOL!!!

why didnt u go with the tiburon. im confussed they offered u 17k for your car. also how long is your payment plan set for, 12 months. i set mine up for 60 moinths and my payments are 194. im glad your happy about your choice. and yes you are now banned from LVC and have to turn over all passwords. JK your always welcome here.

Sorry for the double thread, not sure how that happened.

And as for the Cobalt not making me happy like the LS did, well duh! But it well make me happy knowing I am saving 70 or so a month on a car payment, cheaper insurance, cheaper at the pump(till I start "modding" it) and giving me the ability to get on top of things for a future where I can than get a car similiar to the LS or better and be able to provide for a family.

The LS was literally eating me up money-wise. It literally made me a tightass when it came to money and now, the cobalt well not do that to that degree and I can focus on more important things other than a car.

Did not go w/ the Tib because the payment was going to be like $550 a month even after all that money for the ls.

Hey man, I mean you got what you wanted, but you should have kept your LS or at least get something else than a rental car.. Did you ever think about getting a Scion TC? For that price I think it is one of the best new cars right now.

Good luck with anyways.

The problem was buying a car you couldn't afford to begin. I would buy an old used something before I would pay 400 or whatever a month for that turd. To each his own, have fun ricen it out.

I went w/ the Cobalt because off the rebates and not to mention it was already almost $3k under that invoice or whatever you'd normally pay for so instead of 18 I paid under 16 before the rebate.

Please do not hold back on comments I expect mean or worse considering what I got. Remember I was upside down in the LS from trading in for that so it was really hard to work a deal where I would lower the payments. Trust me, I tried many other options before this, many. Just ask the parents and the g/f.

Oh and this type of car does not bother me, I'd had much worse before the LS. And for the riceing it out part, I'm sure I well have fun doing all that. Well not really, I plan to get a nice ground effects package and MAYBE do header and full exhaust, just without the pissed off bee noise.

yo 02LSEglkdsfjglkdsfjlgk... how do you have 420 posts when u joined 2 months ago?? hahaha daaamn, is that rite?

4:20?? not yet, still couple of hours more to wait for some...

Not ricing out the Cobalt, eventually I well get a ground effects package I saw and like that is pretty cheap, EVENTUALLY, I plan on hanging onto this car for awhile so if anything is going to be done to it, it won't be for sometime.

Its not that I couldn't afford the LS, I was just hating throwing that money around when I could have something else that would give me the ability to give me extra cash for whatever. Another reason was I was getting tired of the LS and not to mention the bang(not really a bang) in the rear whenever I would got to take off and just other little things. And I'm not just saving $70 dollars, I well no longer be tossing $150 a month for a :q:q:q:qty warranty so I am really saving myself about ::scratches head:: $270-300 after shedding that 70 extra for a payment, the 150 for a warranty, gas and insurance.

I bought a 4 door 1985 BMW 318i since my car has been in the shop for the past 3 months. It cost me 500. It knocked $80 off my insurance, it does wonderfully on gas, and i still have my LS(well next week i will have it).

You Suck!:headbang:

I made the same choice at the end of my '02 LS lease. I stepped over to a Mark VIII.

Like I said to each his own, Its hard for me to imagine a LS owner going that route. I'm a Ford&Lincoln guy my whole life. All rear wheel drive 2 doors until my LSE. I did have a 81 Escort wagon for a winter beater when I was 18. I hated it.

I think Honda Insight would be a better idea...

It's ok man, I mean you got yourself a gas saver. Like WhatsupAdrian I have a 90 BMW 325i with manual for that, it's the best purchase carwise I have ever made. I never had any problems with that car in 2 years that I have it. So when the LS gets messed up every 3 months with some new problem I just drive my Bimmer until it gets fixed at the dealer. In 2 and a half years that I owned my LS I spent nearly $6000 only on repairing it. I had it since 35,000miles and now it has 103,000. I am still gonna keep it, but I don't know for how long, I know the change is gonna be another BMW or at least a Benz. I might get an older M5, the E34 body 89-95.
