OK... as most of you know, changing plugs is supposed to be easy on the Mark viii right? Well I went to change just my plugs this morning on my 94 and DAMN! 6 of the 8 plug wires were not too bad to get out, but the other 2 are a nightmare! One of the cables separated from the boot and was left attached to the plug. Luckily I was able to get my very deep 5/8" socket to grip the hex on the plug after using a hammer to tap it down into place. The biggest problem I STILL have is one of the rubber parts that actually seals the porcelain section of the plug broke off of the end of the boot and is stuck HARD to the plug itself down in the plug well. With the rubber piece still attached to the plug, I cannot get the socket down to the hex on the plug. Any ideas on how I can get the rubber piece off the plug without having to remove the valve cover? This sucks, simple 15 minute job my A@*! When I do finally get them out, I am going to use liberal amounts of dielectric grease around the rubber body of the boot and plug itself to hopefully avoid a repeat in the future. So I plan on getting the Ford racing wires and Lightning plugs from Max but I still need to get that rubber piece off the final plug so I can remove it. HELP!!!
