Spark Plugs

can the autolite double platinums be used as well? b/c I put a set of those in yesterday in my Mark VIII and the car drives just fine.

No problems, you can sleep well at night knowing you don't have to change the plugs again for years. What did you gap them at?

I've run a lot of different plugs; IMHO, you can't beat the performance & price of Autolites. I personally use 103's, but to each their own.....

no love for the platinum +4 plug? used them in everything ive driven. but ive used msd control boxes and coils.ive actually been told that the ford cop wires are the same or rather no difference than the accel cop's or msd's

I didnt gap them the guy at the parts counter said I didnt have 2. OH Crap did I have to gap them?

The guy at the parts counter is an idiot. I've always had to gap my plugs. As a matter of fact, I gapped every last plug because none of them were at .54 I'll bet you every last plug in your car is at the wrong gap.

Nope. I wouldn't put bosch in anything. I reluctantly put them in german cars if thats what came out.

the guy at autozone told me that the motorcraft platinum plugs were the best plugs for my 97 since thats what originaly came in the car, do you guys think thats true? i trust yal judgement over his for the fact that you all actually own mark viii's & not jus goin off what a computer says

For longevity and reliability, yes. I'd run any plat non-bosch plug though. If you can get the oem plugs for the same amount as a joe shmoe plat i'd pick them.

i was changing my plugs & i noticed some of my coils hav a yellowish motorcraft sticker on them with a grey boot wire & some have a coil wth a black sticker with jus numbers on them or no sticker with black boot wires, are the ones with the yellowish motorcraft sticker the original coil from the factory?

The mc's are prob the original's and the others are likely aftermarket replacements. Try to search the part # of the generics so you atleast know what kind are in there.
