i was listening to a cd the other day and all my speakers just stopped working except for the factory sub. my car came with the factory navigation and the thx system. also, when ever i turn the car on and off the sub sounds like its popping. has anyone else had this problem? any ideas on how i can get it fixed? thanks!

i bought my car with the condition you describe, except my console speakers still worked. The only thing that worked was replacing the radio. sorry for the bad news.

especially bad news for this guy. Those factory navigation units are not cheap (about 2500 bucks).

Not on this site, but I have read a technical bulletin about the sub woofer popping. I'll try to look it up. It's a specific issue.

The subwoofer popping is a delay in the signal to the amp. Thats probably either the head unit or the amp just showing its age. Nothing you can really do about it except replace those parts.

yes this isnt good news. i might try taking the car to my friends audio shop to see if its an electrical problem or if it could possible be fixed. could the dealer do anything about this? i still have full warranty

they can replace the radio.... had it done on a 04 focus... just say the volume will just turn up all the way for no reason...

I had this problem on my 03. I had a wire that was coming loose from the factory amp. Wiggled a few wires and all is well.

you still under warrenty, just take it in and they will take care of it, i have the thx and they replaced the head unit and the subs for me.

i took the car to my friends audio shop and he said there is something wrong with the amp on the left side of the trunk. i didnt realize it but the amp was burning hot. im going to try to take it to the dealer today.

that may be, but that wouldnt explain why all your speakers stopped working.

the way he discribed it was theres two amps in the trunk that power the speakers in the car and the subs. the amp running to the speakers in the car is messed up and doesnt push sound inside the car. the amp running to the facory subs still works fine
