Speed calibration options?

That's actually some advice worth quite a bit here. My black 23-tooth speedo gear got pretty chewed up with the 4.10s. I may go back to a stock speedo gear for some extra durability.

how does it shift with the 410s and the stock tranny gear?

Same here!:D

Hey Thaywood and Chris, I too agree with you guys and have been running a 245/50/16 on our Thunderbird Turbo Coupe since we wore out the first set of tires. The Turbo came stock with the same size tire as the M8.

Two things no one here has mentioned - the smaller tire doesn't just make your speedo read faster, than what you are travelling, it also makes your car put on the miles faster as well. Thus you mileage reads higher than what it is. It will also give you better than what you actually getting for fuel economy numbers.

I see here that the 98 M8 is not supposed to be affected by tire size, but I am getting a different reading with the smaller diameter tire, anyone know why?
140KM = 87MPH
131KM = 81MPH

the gen 2 is not affected by gearing changes.
it is still very much affected by tire changes.

Thanks Chris! It is what I originally thought as every car I've seen the tire size would affect the speedo. However, I know you guys know these M8's very well!

I was pretty tired when I read this previously and thought the speedo went off the anti-lock brake sensor and the gear was just for the transmission shift points. Thank for the response!
